  1. Bear Creek. How can you beat Ginna's influence in the spring along with other creek flows and structure to boot
  2. On the Home page upper right hand corner search "fishing spring browns". That will bring up numerous posts to answer your questions
  3. Well it looks like the jury is still out on whether mono backing is needed. I have been using tape and haven't had any issues but I like Sk8man's comment on preventive maintenance. I think I'll put some mono on as I respool. Like rbochan said, who doesn't have some cheap, crappy mono lying around.
  4. Mono backing on braid, wire & copper Ok, I need opinions. I just got 2 reels back from Tuna's Reel Troubles after having Dragmasters Drag upgrades. Great service and quick turnaround. One of the reels had about 150yds of braid backing that I left on after removing some old wire. There is a note on my invoice that says "Whenever using any type of braided, wire, or copper line, ALWAYS make sure you back it with at least 20 yds. Of mono backing before tying to the spool. This is CRUCIAL to how your drag system, line counters, and clickers work. We can't stress this enough!! Does everybody or anybody do this. I use braid for backing on my coppers and wires but no mono under that. I thought the braid as backing was enough. Comments?
  5. Great pics thanks. Good looking pup." Jackson " I like it
  6. I bought 2 TraxTech ratcheting style last spring to replace 2 non-ratchet and couldn't be happier. You can run the rod tip in the water if you want. Helpful when doubling up on one side
  7. I've said it before on this marina project that these owners don't make bad business decisions. I think they have plan for the channel. I hope Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Great news. Looking forward to it. Let me know if the I-Bay Fish & Game Club can be of any use. Awards ceremony, weigh station or whatever. Kevin
  9. Excellent job. Looking forward to some more winter reports. Bear Creek maybe? I think that guy in the fur hat cuts my neighbors lawn. LOL
  10. Ok I gotcha now. My confusion rose from the fact that Vetting was looking for ideas to store reels only I think.
  11. And you would do what with these?
  12. Auto pilot for sure. I just installed a Raymarine EV-100 on my 25' Pursuit with a 250 Yammie in the fall. Did not get a chance to fish with it before going into storage but got it working OK. Install was not to bad - with a some help in bleeding the steering hydraulic lines. Go for it. Thumbburn said it perfectly- no more yelling "Keep it straight"
  13. Good luck with the upgrade Chad. So you're saying if we don't notice any changes that you've successfully upgraded. LOL. Thanks for all of your efforts keeping this site top shelf. Kevin
  14. 1 7.3 lb. Herbie/fish weight- - 1 8 lb. cannonball- - 1 10 lb pear shape weight with fin- - 1 12 lb. cannonball w/fin. All for $50.00 or best offer. Rochester area. PM or call 585-743-7337
  15. Could those be the locations for those USGS buoys that were out there in 2015. I count 4 of them, and I recall 4 buoys in those depths. Me and a few other boats I know of snagged the cables of those with dipsies if you got to close.
  16. Sounds like a great idea. I would be interested in attending. Anything to help my catch rate. It could use a kick-start most days. Kevin
  17. I take it you've got sound. You gotta admit, that is fun.
  18. No sound on my I-Pad either, but I got it on my desktop computer. ???
  19. My response to that is, the Danielle's are very business savvy. They know something we don't as far as that channel. Some new docks have been delivered there already. If you disagree, just look at Southpoint marina and the apartment project next door.
  20. I think this is the place that Chinese guy is selling those kings.
  21. Is that a drone pic Brian?
