fly leader break offs?
UNREEL replied to hawkeye625's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
We think the fly leader gets a little slack and as the fish thrashes the line gets jammed in the crotch of the treble. Some say super glue in the treble helps this. If you tie your own a piece of .125 tubing on the treble shank helps. -
Dave Mull @ GLA's blog post about his incident last week.
UNREEL replied to Yankee Troller's topic in Open Lake Discussion
WoW! A very lucky group. My PFD's will be a lot more visible from now on. One question. I'm not sure I understand how a drift bag tied off the bow will keep the bow into the waves. That's assuming the bag stays under the boat. Wouldn't you deploy it off the stern? -

UNREEL replied to Second Nature's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Very interesting. A buddy and I were talking about splitting the cost for one and dialing in our depths on our divers. I think you just convinced me. -

Drove down to look at lake. Didn't know what to expect after the NE blow on Mon. The north breeze was setting up the green water onshore out to about 50ft. With the temp we had we targeted browns with spoons and Rapalas. SS metallic frog and a Kevorkian look alike took 5 of the 7. Only miss was a braided diver hit out 65 ft. pulling another frog. Nothing big. Maybe 8 lb was max. ====================

Thanks for the heads up. I've been trying to put an order online for several weeks. When I put all my credit info in it tells me credit card is no good. They should shut the site down because it's a big waste of time. Voicemails have not been returned. To bad really. There is a ton of interest the product.

Great tips. Thanks. Capt Rob. I assume you're using the SPRO 150lb. heavy swivels. They will take the copper?

I'm looking for an alternative to the albright knot on my copper setups. Does anyone use a haywire twist on the copper to form an eye and then tie your backing or floro leader to the eye. Shrink tube would be the finishing touch. Kevin
