I know from being in OC quite often in the last few years, the guys I see returning are extremely ill. I saw this one guy after a wahoo outing in 60 fathoms that couldn't even get off the ground, once he got to it. Maybe he had no sea legs. I know from fishing Lks Erie and Ont. what it feels like when it's rough, but I never came back like that poor guy. Maybe he was extra sensitive?
There are some beautiful Viking yachts in the harbor!!!!!
OC, MD.com for charters, there are quite a few.
This website is great for newbies, I have learned quite a bit. Just absorb as much as you can. And ask questions, you'll get an answer from someone who knows!
Great day Sunday, Congrats!!!!!!
Gas is too expensive to just troll around aimlessly! Because of this website and LOTSA, it's been awhile since I've smelled a skunk.
Thanks everybody!!!!!
Hi Guys,
I was just wondering how long I can leave reels spooled with braid and lead. I change mono every year, but lead and braid are more expensive, obviously. The braid I use for dipseys, so it's used on almost every trolling outing, the leadcore isn't used all the time, and I get out only once a week most of the time.

Excellent report Rod!
I had a really good time with you, Matt, Jeff, and Steve, along with Capt Dick and his crew. It is too bad that we didn't get some "sharks" aboard.
This tourny provided me with some new experiences
Saturday was interesting just like Matt described. The fog on Sat had my mind wandering, thinking thoughts of XFiles, ghost ships and vortices taking me and Capt Dick's crew aboard the "Landing Zone" to another dimension.
Congrats on finishing in the $, you guys worked hard, burned lots of fuel, just to catch some fish.
I really like the Leclair's boat.
Well, Mr. Murphy decided to join my friends and me for our outing today. Launching out of of Ft Niagara at the wrong launch cost me a busted prop, not bad, no vibration, but busted up . Went out NE to about 150 ft to start trolling and picked up a nice 10 lb King down 120 on a green and chrome spoon off the rigger, twenty minutes in. I guess Mr. Murphy felt that was enough for the day because he proceeded to play tricks on us after that catch. First thing was when my pal was lowering spoon and lost my rigger ball, oh by the way, Moor probe was on that rigger . Any one have a used probe for sale? After that we lost a dispsey and then the restrung rigger had issues with cable coming off guides. Picked up a little guy that we thru back and that was it.
At least Mr. Murphy didn't bring his skunk along for the cruise !
Thank you Capts. Ruth and Evans for advice and reports!

I am so thankful for for all of the knowledge that I get from this website. I have noticed that all of the recent pictures indicate nobody is wearing lifejackets. New York is hurting for $$$ and Shelly Silver and the Albany crew will take it any way they can. I wouldn't want anyone to get nailed for not wearing a lifejacket while underway (including trolling) before May 1st. Just a thought, while admiring all your catches.
I was wondering how late in the year I have to troll for salmon and trout.
I fish the Oak west, Olcott mainly.
Thanks guys for your info, because it really helps !
