  1. Chuck, not sure exactly why the trout shut down in summer. The only luck I've ever had in July with trout in Hemlock is in that 70ish east side midlake. See small schools in there on the graph, must be seepage from creeeks holding food? I troll through them with double wire dips and pick off 2 or 3 then nothing anywhere else. Also try a cruise over that south flat 70's 80;s had luck in there right off the bottom. I don't have an outboard for that lake anymore, just a 30hp on my 16smoker or I'd be in there more. My cousin Kevin has a 14smoker 9.9 merc. he's a bass n panfish guy, carves his own wooden lures, paints them up and hammers fish in there. Hemlock is awsome though once the big lakes fill up with jet skiers and huge cruisers. I almost never pass on a trout hunting trip but if the bass are active its a break from the water fleas and working all the rigging ya know. You got a pm.
  2. Great news, Canandaigua is turning on. Thanks Sean for the awesome report ..Woodville is much closer for me than Dean's Chuck the largies were biten Sunday from 9amto 11am pretty good on Hemmy. My cousin and I launched at the south end at 5 but it took the bite some time to kick in.One bass at 3.5lbs...a few more at 12-14inches We also did 2 really nice pickerel 19 and 22 inches. One bite off next to the boat..really huge toothy critter No pics this trip, I don't think of the camera when I'm not targeting trout Chris
  3. Niiice Good news!! , I'll be out there Friday am outta Deans. Thanks for the report. I will start out deeper after your report, our best fish last sunday came 70 feet down over 180's..good marks all over, wish I started deeper. Hey are the bigger LL's suspended out over the deeper water? We could not keep the little guys off our spoons early from 60-100 fow.Be nice to take home a few over 20inches Here is our laker from Sunday, my son Brian, 28inches right at 10.5 lbs..love Cayuga it seems to fish fairly well right through the morning.
  4. Dale, only been one time, very windy. Trolled around Dean's a couple weeks ago in the waves/wind. No trout that day just a boat ride. Last june the RR Spoons and phoebe's did very well in there all wire diver rigs down 50-75 every where. the salmon like the stinger spoons 25 feet down any color really. May do Dean's in am or try Geneva again. Good luck with the tourney fishin. Chris
  5. Chuck!! That might be the biggest brownie in there..be careful where you swim Any more big trout left in there? Definetly on the wall, what a pig NIIIIICE
  6. Hi Mike, I was sure you could offer some direction here, thanks for helping out. We were out Sunday in the foggy rain south end and didn't mark concentrations of fish either. There were marks from 20 right down to the bottom at all depths. Never saw any bait to speak of anywhere. Yes fish seem scattered so a few here and there and long pulls between. The pickerel were biting at first light in the weeds off Woodville though. Nice gentleman at the launch in a huge bayliner said fishing has been slow but offered some advice: "sutton spoons not too deep and slow troll em"...he said you can't troll slow enough right now. Guess I need to stop in and pick a few up. Oh well off to Cayuga till this lake sets up. Hey Dale, you and Tim should be gearing up for the Kings pretty soon.
  7. Another good Dean's report nice job!! try that needlefish in Cop Car for the salmon, 6lbs flouro
  8. I love fishing in the wind and rain..ADVENTURE MAN..nice job!! I was at Dean's Saturday evening with the wife, very gusty winds...not many fish marked or biting in there. We dropped a big laker on the braided dipsey rig in the waves, but had a ball. There were HUGE blue gills and a couple big largies hangin around the little launch bay. Dean's always has that fishey feel to it.
  9. Just fantastic Chuck!! This had the look of a good Hemlock morning..man I need a small kicker A mouse in laker?? First for everything I guess. How has the boat traffic been in there this spring? It looked really busy on Canadice a couple weeks ago. Tons of yakers n canoes. Ya better be good with the trailer to thread between the cartop clutter.
  10. Yes interesting, I was scratching my head Friday night 5/21 also. Launched at Geneva with my son Brian at 6pm and ran south to 90-100fow. marked fish top to bottom and pulled all the usual suspects that worked last spring in the same spot..not a touch!! This is not my typical Seneca experience??SKUNK!! Then it down poured on us before we loaded up at 8:30 ...I'll be back for you mr.laker!!!
  11. awesome bow Chuck, hey ever get anything in there on leadcore? It works in Canadice for lakers with the stingers but all I catch off leadcore in there are huge smallies Chris
  12. Dre..http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/23250.html At that size .5 I'm sure 3000 are gone by now.
  13. Steve that's that spoon I gave you 2 summers ago when we ran into each other at the north end Naa you never let us down in there, that lake should fish pretty good this summer, I only trolled up a few hog smallies all last summer, had much better luck on Canadice with the trout. Hey see ya down there sometime, I fish alot with my cousin out there now I'm sure we'll bump. We both have white smokers 14 and 16. I always have the Yankee hat on Chuck Hey I saw they stocked with LL's last spring!! Think there will be any changes in there with the state ownership coming in? Good luck guys
  14. I was scrolling down ..not ready for that great post guys!!

  18. Hello all , getting psyched up over the new fishing season coming up. Had the boat outta the garage and barrel ran the new/old Johnson 30 today just purred right to life. sooo Is anyone getting lakers or LL's outta Geneva? Are they out deep ? I'm hoping I can run a mile south and set up in the 70s-90 with the leadcore n dipseys and score a few for my 15 year old son. I did ok last June in there in the evening from 6-8ishpm... Thanks ahead!!
  19. Thanks for the tips guys. Mr.Sean, the browns will not be deep? thanks Chris
  20. My son and I have a 1.5-5 power mounted on our .44 mag lever action. Only time it acted crazy at sight in time the mounts were loose. I had the same scope in my 870 slug gun/cantilever style rifled barrel..no problems at all. I love the Leupold's. If that scope is not cantilever mounted, MAKE SURE that barrel is tight. If its not slugs will scatter everywhere. Good luck.. sounds like its ready now
  21. Steve, gorgeous deer, congrats Chris
  22. Nice job again Mike the fish look as nice as the smiles. That 30" had to be beatiful .Weather looks awesome too.
