  1. I tend to run meat on wire- and not so much on riggers. But it's all about what spread you want Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. You have to tweak the crap out of the Rhys Davis heads. Should get at least a roll per second on the surface. I have been incredibly impressed with the John king heads from atommik this year... they roll perfectly without tweaking. Are you running Twinkie rigs? If you aren't, you should be Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Try meat. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Temporarily shut down (last 3 years) as there are "so few of them". It was tongue in cheek as they were plentiful for us. Limit on haddock is 15 and pollack is unlimited Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. It was flat calm. Beautiful day. I bet we caught 200 fish, kept 60 haddock which was our legal limit Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. I have never used a leader for pike, and I've never had one bite me off. I can see using a heavier floro leader as it is abrasion resistant and relatively invisible, but 80 lb is big time overkill Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. My brother and a few buddies took a cool trip to mass to catch haddock! Here it is Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Here is my trip from a few weeks ago... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Charter all day. I'm not that brave! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. From krenzers to the channel is about 20 minutes. I just use that time to get all my rods out, lures on, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Yeah, get the pre made atommik rigs with cut herring. The last 3 times I have been out, cutbait have accounted for 90% of my fish Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Yes I believe so Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I went last weekend for haddock. 25+miles out but very good dishing. We kept our 4 man limit (60) and caught many more Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. Pretty good short day in Sodus. We got out nice and early and were fishing by 5:40. Set up in 65 fow and pointed north, running spoons and meat in a king program. We ended up 5/8, mostly kings with one laker. The three we lost were definitely kings, all screamers. They wanted meat down deep- 80-100 rigger, 400-450 copper and 240 dipsey all took hits. Not a touch on spoons or flys, which I ran all day. We worked 140-210 straight out front, maybe 1/2 mile west. We kept 3 fish, let the rest go... 16. Imho, it's real. June is generally the time we go from a shore oriented and surface bite to a deeper bite. That is certainly the case in the entire eastern basin, less so near the bar. The thing about June is that it is wildly INconsistent. Any small blow will ruin any pattern that you may have. And the fish are just so damn spread out. Once late June hits, things are set up better and more importantly the salmon start to migrate east. I have had great days in June, no doubt. But on a very regular basis, my worst 2-3 days of the entire year are in June.... it is not cause I magically forget how to fish for those weeks! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. Rochester had great brown fishing this spring. Fishing stinks right now, unless you are near the bar. June transition... it'll get better soon. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  19. I noticed the same, though I assumed that the flooding and relative lack of boats had a lot to do with it Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. I think the above chart is a bit deeper than I would expect. Id love to know how they came up with those numbers... for the 45 copper I expect 22 feet per 100 out. If using 30 lb, the depth will be less Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. I'll buy a ticket. Hope it is a success Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Sorry, this is late. Video from the first day of the pro am. Started slow in 60-80 fow just west of Wilson- 1 laker and and a few coho to start the day. We slid out to 140-200 at about 10 and really got into 2 year old kings. Meat and flasher/fly with any deep presentation (rigger, dipsey, copper) did the trick. We had a hell of a time converting our fish on the copper rigs- and just in general. We went 10/18 this day. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  24. Yes, I have a GoPro hero 2. I was fishing from Wilson out front to about 3 miles west. 150-200 fow Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Yeah, my team knows what they are doing and we had some straaange stuff happen this weekend. We only caught about 70% of our hits, and they were all over the rods! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
