  1. If kings are your target, consider at least one mag moonshine uv glow. I really like the crab face for the morning bite
  2. I've tried numerous times to call in the last week... No answer and no ability to leave a message?
  3. Ok. Just need to figure out alternative docking for that weekend. Where do people suggest in olcott?
  4. Vince, I am fishing the am division... I now have to fish out of olcott or Wilson correct? My original plan was to dock at the oak for a month and do the niagara and oak orchard open... But I will need to change that possibly very soon if I must fish IN niagara county
  5. My impression of the catch was that it was low as compared to the last 10 years or so but fairly typical and near historic averages overall. The alewife population overall is fairly stable (adults that is)- likely a result of a huge year class 3 years ago, but new recruitment has been very low the last 2 years due to the cold winters (they think/hope). Alewife live 5-7 years, so they are really hoping for better than normal survival of the young of year over this last mild winter... If not I think that panic might follow. They are trawling in April so we will have an idea soon...
  6. I didn't need a survey. For boats less than about 12-15k they usually don't ask. I have progressive and they didn't need one
  7. I had a very bad experience with seagar red label last year and will never use it again. That being said, I have always used the conventional leader material with my flies and have never had an issue
  8. Interesting how much their fish weigh. A big king there is 20 lbs, which is about our AVERAGE in August/sept. In season 5 finale, the 4 best boats in the fleet in 2 days weighed in ONE 20 lb fish, with an average around 14 lbs. Is that typical for Lake Michigan?
  9. I see that the rules now state you must fish out of a niagara county port. So I guess I can't keep my boat at the oak???
  10. Though you are right in theory, the fact is that up until 10 years ago we had unbelievable, world class small mouth fishing. I grew up in Sodus, and it used to be that catching 20-40 small mouth in the lake in a single day was normal. I worked for a charter that would take his guys smallie fishing on those June or July transition days, and 100 fish in a day was possible. It was as easy as anchoring in 20-40 fow and dropping a worm.
  11. That's a good deal for the 585. I love mine!

  15. I know a good one near stuart
  16. I had the itch real bad, so I scratched it down in Florida on the st lucie river! Did 3 nice trout, a big redfish, and some jacks. Just one more month and we will be back at doing what we all know and love!
