  1. Lol, I have a bunch of time Im too, still not sure!!
  2. I have a bunch of old spoons I am trying to identify. Several of them have this symbol. Anyone know what brand this is?
  3. The bluffs are in Sodus. A former classmate of mine named James Zeger did it- he did the murals in sodus point as well and is a talented guy for sure. She really surprised me with this one!
  4. Check out the painting my wife had done for me for Christmas! Thought you all could appreciate this...
  5. Interestingly, and in contrast to what I am seeing here, my mvp was smaller spoons for the most part- particularly dreanweaver regulars in any UV pattern. The moonshine crab face mag has always been my go to, and was on some days this year, but generally by mag bite was way off... Here are a few good ones...
  6. I do mono every year. Keeping it out of the sun when you aren't using them is key too I have found. I am doing a multi season "study" to try to figure out which brand of leadcore last longer. I had several break offs but wasn't paying attention to the brand... So now I am!
  7. Thanks guys! I'll probably use power pro or the Scotty braid and let you know how it goes!
  8. Hey all, for as long as I can remember, I have only ever seen the dacron line used as the planer board tow line. The issue i have is that my releases (clippers with a brass flute inserted) slide poorly at times, particularly if there is anything (seaweed, cotton wood) in the water. I have tried "lubricating" the line, etc with no luck. What does everyone use? I found a planer board in the lake with what appeared to be super heavy duty mono attached to it last year, not sure if this is better? Any suggestions appreciated!
  9. Try to fish in the 70-120 range, and stay there. That's where those fish are programmed to be right now. If you find a range with good marks stay on them and grind them out. Meat and flasher/fly have been good for me. Usually the fish will be deep (near the bottom) but my guess is that the east wind will bring the temp up higher. I caught 4 kings the other day and every one was dark and had the dog teeth, so they are staging. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Short report for a short trip. They are finally staging in Sodus! We worked 90-120 right in front this am. Temp was 90 down, and we had salmon just above that. The screen looked better inside 100 fow but they were more active 100-120. We did 2 kings on dipseys with flasher/fly back 210 and 240, one on a 90 rigger with meat and one on a 80 rigger with a mag spoon. Nice quality fish today. All 20+ mature males. 11. Those fish did finally turn on. Cool. The screen was crazy is there in the amq Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Nice day out of sodus today. We started in 90 on a nw troll pretty much straight out. Our spread was 2 riggers with spoons, one rigger with cutbait and 2 dipseys with flasher/fly. The screen was lit right up in 100-120 with what I assume we're stagers early, but no takers. We found a nice pod of active fish in 160-190 just west of port and ended up 4-8 on all kings. They wanted meat and they wanted it deep (120 down). We took 2 shots on a rigger with a dw as dirty white boy and one shot on a 350 dipsey. Beautiful weather today. Back at it thursday Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Nick, we are 170-180 fow, just a tick west, 3 for 6 on kings so far Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. How deep are you? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Short report as not much to say. We started in tight working 120-150, but temp was all wrong and no takers, so we worked out deep. Once we passed 600, we had a short burst of action. We boated one 2 year old, busted off a screamer and missed another shot between 10:30 and 11:30. That was it. Our hits came on a 270 dipsey with glow dot spinny and mag uv spoons on the 110 rigger. A swing and a miss overall. Back at it wednesday maybe, probably gonna run right out deep? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. We started in 150 fow on a ne troll, knowing with the big blow that the temp would be deep..... And man was it! I had to go down about 125-130 to get temp. We deployed 3 stacked riggers down 110-135 down with mag spoons and 2 dipseys back 320-370 with flasher/fly. The screen from 160-200 was absolutely loaded early, and we did get 3 shots on 2 year old salmon... 2 on a 125 rigger with a mag moonshine Shelly snack and 1 on a 370 dipsey with a glow dot spinny. By 9 am all of the marks were gone so we headed north. We would take one nice mature king in 280 fow just west of port on a 370 dipsey with spinny. It was a nice mature male with 13 huge fresh alewives in his belly!!! We were done by about 11. What a huge pain it was today to maintain temp, speed and direction with a Sw wind, strong weat current and very deep temp. I worked mostly out front and east today. Back at it in a week or so hopefully. Abe Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. Good lord on those scores. The big boys are out to play I see Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Nick, my dipseys on 3.5 setting were hitting bottom in 30 fow out 60, and 20 fow out 40 last weekend. I think the deeper you go the more you have to let out, and perhaps out past say 70 feet your rule applies more.... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Anyone lose a planer board off sodus or Hughes this weekend?? We found one in like 250 fow Friday.... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
