Big Fish Friday- we had a hot tip that the browns were in tight, so we started the day getting that program dialed in. we got into the fish pretty much immediately, and worked 30-40 FOW from Boulder pt to Munson Road. It was a great class of brownies, probably about a 10 lb AVERAGE with a 14 10 LOC fish, a 13 and 11 lb fish. They wanted little tiny spoons off the dipsey and boards, down 10-20 feet. My riggers were worthless. By about 8:30 we had our fish and we had it figured out, so we worked out deep to figure out the kings... we would rot for the next 5 hours, with one steelie and 2 lakers to show for our troubles. we worked from 100-450 west of port... For BFF we had a 70 pt box, about 1 lb from the money.... Saturday: we started the AM in the same water as the day before, and it was really quiet. I think the T storms shut them off. I made a big mistake and gave up on those fish at just before 9. I went out and worked 130 FOW in front of Hughes pretty hard, and only got a small laker on a 10 color core. by noon, I had one small laker, so I picked up and motored back to my waypoints near Boulder, and Immediately knocked off 3 browns at about 1:00 pm.... They were there the whole time, I just didn't wait them out. Thankfully, those fish kept me in the running for saturday, and I was sitting on about 65 pts... Sunday- we knew we had to get 6 fish (and a laker) so we went back to the browns that treated us so well friday. I stopped just about a mile from port and let everyone motor WAAAAAAAAAY past me. the screen was absolutely lit up off maxwell in 30-40 FOW, so we did a program of 4 planers and 2 dispels (ams could only use 6 rods). we worked maxwell to bootleggers all day, grinding out the bites. Again, a nice class of fish, but a few dinks too (2 fish weighed 5-6 lbs). we got our 6 by 11, and went to laker land (120 FOW off hughes). we picked up our kicker laker at 12, then had a nice shot on the 80 rigger with meat which felt King-y. I would take another small king on a 55 rigger with a mag white spoon, then a nice major in 110 FOW with a meat rig down 70. It felt nice to upgrade my 5 lb brown... we came in with a 135 pt box, and had a total of 201 pts, good for 6th. all in all a productive weekend

Kinda a bonus day for me today. I got an unexpected pass to fish!! We got a VERY late start, finally set up at 8:30. We started in 90 fow off the trailer park, knowing that We would probably work 110-150 to the west. First fish was a big screamer on the 400 copper with a paddle and fly. Probably the biggest of the day, that we broke off because the backer got doubled over itself. There was more marks in 150+ so we worked a bit deeper 150-200 and they started to go better. We would go on to boat 3 of 6 hits, all majors. We were off the water by noon. Mag black glow spoons on the riggers 80-110 down and 400 copper with spinny/fly did all the work. We did have a rip on the 270 dipsey with meat that we missed. We mostly worked maxwell to boller. The current was SCREAMING today, I couldn't get the boat to go less than 2.25 going east, much less get a hit. Back at it tuesday, then the proam. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

We fish sodus this morning. Started at 5:45 just west of the channel in 30 feet of water. Between about six and nine we were three for five on brown trout, a pretty decent size, mostly about 10-15 down on small spoons or deep diving rapalas. 25-40 was the best depth, from the trailer park to maxwell. At nine it really calmed down, so we pointed her north. We did end up with one nice midteens King out in 250 fow on a Twinkie rig with meat out 180 on setting 2. We were off the water shortly after 10. Not a bad morning. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Lots of short salmon lately for sure. I feel so bad when they bury all three trebles on the mag spoons I am running specifically to AVOID catching them.... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Haven't been able to get the Browns to go the last few weekends. Thank god the offshore bite has remained strong. There appeared to be a pretty good break out in 500 or so that I didn't have time to work out to. I'm sure the steelies were chewing out there. I keep my boat at krenzers so I have no info about launches. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Nice short am out of sodus today- fished 5:45-10. We started in 25 fow with a bt program, and of course struck out again. So as per usual lately, we pointed her nw. Once we crossed 200 fow, it was game on. We had a mix of small salmon, steelies and lakers. All the fish came on small spoons- green dot glow small stingers did the trick, on free sliders and riggers down 25-40. We took a few shots on small red spoons as well. We ended up 7 for 8. We had one good king in about 200 fow that went absolutely nuts at the boat, wrapped 2 riggers and a dipsey, and broke off 2 spoons. He came on a free slider on. 60 foot rigger. Oh well. I worked late today so we were able to get out for a few hours from sodus. We set up in 35 fow on a brown trout program, riggers and planers from top to bottom.. Water temp was good at 54, good bait but no fish. We blew out of there at 6:30 and switched over to a steelie/king program. We boated one nice salmon (9 lb 2 year old) in 100 fow, but nothing after that, so we kept working out. Once we hit 229 fow it was on... We would go on to finish 10 for 13 on an even mix of 1 and 2 year old kings and various sizes steelies, with a kicker laker and a very lost brown. It was an all spoon bite today, red stuff on top and ss or 28 sizes spoons on the riggers 30-70 down. Kept 3 to eat and let the rest go. Off for a week or so, back at it Father's Day. We had a very good day out of sodus today. We started in 90 feet of water on a ne troll and started putting some stuff down for salmon. Unfortunately no takers and we marked very little, so we continued to work out deeper. Again, as soon as we crossed that 200 fow range we really started to get into the steelhead. We had a better class of fish today. Red Alpena diamonds and high-tech spoons were the ticket They seem to want three split shot. We ended up boating 16 steelhead, two small Kings, and two lakers. The temp is about 55 on top in 180, down to the low 40s by the time you got to 250. Probably the most productive water was in 220 to 240 feet. And again, the riggers and dipseys were fairly quiet. We did have a good king in 220 fow on a dipsey back 150 with a glow green dot spinny. Best consistent action all year for me. Hope they stick around. Good luck! Sounds like there has been a steady king and steelie bite out past 100, wouldn't worry about Browns Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
So I had to work today, and thought I wasn't going to be able to fish.... However I was able to get out of work very early, and got a nice bonus trip in this afternoon. We started at 4:30 pm in about 90 feet of water on a northwest troll. We Actually spent the first AND the last part of the day looking for Kings in that 90-110 range. There were a few marks but really no takers, mostly around 40-50 down. Seeing that the inside water probably wasn't going to work (yet) we pointed north looking for steelhead. Water temp on the surface was about 54°, but once we passed that 190 area, it dropped on very quickly to 46 or so at 210. We got out to as far as about 220, and the water temp out there was 44. Our best water was right about 200. We were straight out front. There was a pretty good break for us to work and the steelhead were very cooperative. We had one very good hour of pretty much a fish every five minutes. Nothing of great size, but definitely fun to catch. They all took little red spoons off the boards with three split shot. At the end of the day I got greedy and went back and looking for Kings, and of course struck out. However it's a lot easier to go looking for things once you've had a bunch of fish in the boat. Can't wait to get back out this weekend and spend some more time on those steelhead. Here are a few that we got pics of (tried to get them back in quick) Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
