  1. I couldn't stop looking at it when I saw it. It made our 13lb laker look small!
  2. Good job, love those Browns!! the action should stay good down there for a few weeks with all that bait and all those browns! looks like we were fishing close to the same area.
  3. I've got a 17.5, the one we fished out of today is 17.
  4. Today was not a good day for numbers but good for quality. Fished the Avon Anglers derby today and finished in 2nd and 4th, no check for 4th thought:(. Fished with Dan today. We are now 2 for 2 in tourneys together on his boat! We fished mainly south east side between 90-150. We ended up 9 for 9, 2 browns over 8lb and 1over 9lb, 5 lakers with one just over 13lb. Leadcores and dipsey out over 300 did the damage today. The winning fish was 21.17lb, the biggest fish i've ever seen out of the fingers!
  5. Well I guess its on.
  6. Kevin, can't remember the last time I missed an outing. Guess I really tied one on!! Mike, are the docks in at Woodville yet? Will see you there if they are.
  7. Good job guys! Just got boat put back together Saturday. Be out next weekend.

  9. I'm in! Let me know when. [ Post made via Android ]
  10. Nick, I'm not trying to get the date changed, I was curious why you picked April. The Perch classic is the first weekend in April and the Avon Anglers have one every weekend in April.
  11. Perch Masters and the Avon Anglers.
  12. Hey Nick, still curious as to why in April and not July with so many other derbies in April and May.
  13. I have a bias opinion but I thought last years event was great! I liked the idea of having to actually but a box together then one lucky fish. But if you stayed with the same rules of a one mans limit, then I would think most people would just target lakers due to the new regs. I like Sean's idea, but would be fine with the same format as last year too. Just curious why April? Nick I will do what I can to help, I think this type of tourney could become a big thing.
  14. Blueghost, you pull copper??!!

  18. My hunting/fishing partner Brian finally saw his first deer of the season after about 8 sits and decided to take him. His wife is the one I posted earlier and she has been giving him an earful about not seeing a deer! To make a very long story and an even longer track, short. He had this buck come in 15 yards checking a scrape and had one little window to make a shot, arrow must have deflected and made a bad shot. He texted me at 8:30 and he decided to wait for me to get there before trying to find him since he wasn't very confident with the shot. I climbed down at 10:00 and drove to the farm he was on and meet him at 10:45. We had good blood at first but no arrow. The blood trail started to slow down, but then we jumped the deer bedded on the edge of the pond, it was moving real slow. We waited about 30 minutes and wondered over to where it crossed the corner of the pond. As I step up the bank I saw the deer just standing 30yds away in a lane way between the corn and woods. I turned to get brian with the bow, turned back around and he was gone. we up to where he just was, found blood and waited another 20-30 minutes. Now no blood anywhere, didn't know if he went into corn or 1 of 3 runs within 30 yards going into woods. just started going down each run hoping to find some blood, finally spec of blood in on of the runs. get down run towards the pond again, last spot of blood at the intersection of 3 runs. now its 2:00 and the blood is only a spec. We start down each run on hands and knees, no blood. We make circles, nothing. We meet back at last blood at 3 and am waiting to him to pull the plug when I see a spec of blood leading towards the bank of the pond, then another and another. Then you can't walk on the bank anymore due to downed trees but to the right about 10 foot into the pond is an island. We look at each other and say noway would he go out there. I make the plunge into waist high water and on to the island, I got Blood. Then another 10 foot out is another island, no way! I make the plunge again and this is what I found on the back side. I walked past that island about 5 times checking the brush on shore when we lost the blood. I'm so glad we didn't give up. Amazing animals! BTW it was almost a 1 1/2 drag to somewhere to be able to get a 4 wheeler in. It was a long night, but the was cold!! Now it's my turn!!!
  19. Nice buck!! Way to get business taken care of early!
  20. My fishing/hunting partners wife shot her first deer on October 4 at 7:56. This is only her second year of hunting, and as I think back it was the first time I was with someone when they recovered their first deer, and it was great! I was home in bed with the flu and my buddy keep calling. finally his wife texted me and said "I have a 6 pointer down think i made a kill shot. in my tree stand waiting to make sure he's dead." I jumped out of bed and called Brian, he asked to meet him there because he was at work, with no extra clothes, knife, etc., and she shot it on my old family farm. When I got to the tree stand she was so excited, explaining how it all went down! It was a 20 yard shot 1/4 away and after a short 30 yard track through some high grass when found him and the hugs and high fives began!! We were very proud of her, working out so she could get the lbs on the bow to 50lb, shooting and becoming very good, and then to go out on her own and make it all come together in just 2 years. It was a great moment!!
  21. Hey thanks Mike, I might take you up on that. I remember it was almost exactly 2 yeas ago we got out with tcon and Dustin and we caught that slob of a rainbow! But like 33canuck always says "she doesn't give them up easy". [ Post made via Android ]
