  1. Nick, Just locked in my crew!! count us in for 3.
  2. Fished the north end from 5am till 8:30. Ended with 6 lakers and 3 rainbows. Fished solo and with wind made it a little tough. First rainbow was a beautiful 5-6lb on the rigger 35 down over 70 on yellow honeybee. He made one of the biggest jumps I've seen, at least 3ft out the water!! All lakers came on the dipsey set at 190-200 on a 2 setting running white sd/white fly. biggest laker was 7-8 lbs and the rest in the 4-5lb class. lots of bait and lots of marks east side 65-90 fow and all along the drop off to the pump house. Ended the day with a double, a laker on the dipsey and a rainbow on the rigger set at 45 going into the wind, I'm glad no one was around to see that!
  3. Awesome fish!! Great report! [ Post made via Android ]
  4. Count us in! [ Post made via Android ]
  5. The word is that they are being held up by the company making the docks. The construction guys said they are trying to have half of them in by the derby so guys can launch for the derby. They are getting a lot of heat from the city, mayor and everybody else to have it open for the first week in June. I still think it was wasted money! [ Post made via Android ]
  6. Made the run up to the north end in search of some browns in tight. We were able to locate a good concentration of browns on the east side in the 60-70 fow range. Also had a good rainbow bite. Ended up the day with 5 browns in the 3-4 lb range and 4 rainbows with 1 just over 5lb and 3 lakers around 3-4 lbs and 1 25" pickerel, who had the #9 straight rapala sideways in his mouth! Also lost one after about a 60 second fight which included a 45 foot rip of drag, chased the boat, started to make another run and then pulled free. I have not been that mad after losing a fish in a long time, I'm sure it was a BIG brown that I was looking for. All browns and bows came on blue and green spoons between 25-35 down on the riggers. Not really any bait to speak of. Wind started to blow around 10:30 and the bite stopped. Moved out deep and picked up the lakers.
  7. Does that mean your going waste em and not release him? [ Post made via Android ]
  8. FLX, glad to see you get out! This lake should start to get hot come the few weeks. Are you still keeping your boat on the south end. I see you only fished the north end is why i'm asking.
  9. Karma, good things happen to people who do good!
  10. Fished in the Avon Anglers Tourney yesterday out of Branchport. Fishing was busy as usually with 34 lake trout boated from 6:30 to noon. All but 2 came on the riggers set at 160 and 135 over 160 fow with sd/fly set ups. Around 9:30 we just landed a nice 5lb fish and heard the drag on the other rigger looked over and rod was bend to water! After a great fight we landed the biggest fish I've ever caught on Keuka, 12.05 lb laker! And Believe it or not it did not win the tourney. A 13+ was caught very close to where ours was. fish shut off around noon and then we tried in close, good marks, no takers.
  11. Fished the Avon Anglers tourney on Sat. Fished the by the condos most of the day. Went 9-11, 4 browns and 5 lakers. All browns were between 3-4 lbs and biggest laker was just over 6. Browns were on the top, 2 on spoons and 2 on sticks. All lakers were from 140-170 down over 180-200fow on sd/fly and peanuts. Tried in close first thing, no marks or takers so we moved out to deeper water. Good pods of bait but hugging the bottom over 200. Biggest fish was a 8lb laker 3rd was a 6lb brown. 12. The only thing I would be concerned about is backing your trailer off the end of the concrete ramp. I backed up my trailer tires up to about 6" before it drops off and was able to load my boat, my trailer is not a roller and I can't crank it up on without enough water. If you have a winch I think you might be able to do it. Avon Anglers will also be there this Saturday.
  13. Good job! Any pics?
  14. Sounds like fun. Gotta love that lake for numbers and a great lake to take a kid! Just grilled up a few tonight from my last trip there.
  15. Started out of Woodville east side just past drop off in shallow. Very few marks and no releases. Moved out and worked from 100 to 170fow, missed one and caught one laker on a sd/fly off the rigger down 115. Crossed the lake just south of vine valley and headed north. Ended up picking up 3 more lakers and missing 2 more. All fish were on sd/fly on the riggers between 115 and 150. Found a few pods of bait but they were hugging the bottom in 225 fow. Very few marks on either side. Not a release on the lead core, dipseys, spoons, or sticks. Anybody with a bigger boat be carefull launching. Looks like from people power loading has pushed the sand at the end of ramp away and it drops off about a foot! Then all that sand is at the end of the docks and is only 24" deep. Its only about 2 1/2 ft deep for the first couple hundred feet out into the lake. Sure could of used some of that north end money to fix the ramp!
  16. as of now we're in.
  17. still a shotgun start in Watkins, or will there be another location to launch from?
  18. I just added the same downriggers and have the 12lb michigan stinger weights. We fished keuka last weekend and had them down to 150 with minimal blowback. You better start working out your right arm though!
  19. Great video! Love watching the those dipsey's thump!
  20. Pete, Glad to see you getting some time on the water and with good results!
  21. Jason, its funny, I was trying to get them to tie me up the frosted Phil with mtn dew head, but they have tie at least 30. That was right when I saw the one you and Sean were using, so I ordered a couple. Those uv heads and beads are key! Good job on the fly! [ Post made via Android ]
  22. Made our way to Keuka State Park for our shake down trip. Started at 9:30 and ended at 1. We had none stop action from start to finish. It took me about an hour to get 6 rods set! We lost count after 17 with many good size fish for this lake. Several were in the 4-5lb with 2 over 7lb. We were fishing deep with sd/fly and flasher/peanuts. Only 2 fish came on spoons and 2 lost on a 7 core with a spoon. We kept our limit and rest returned for another day. Great day on the water and great fishing!
  23. I think your wasting your time on the north end of Canandaigua for trout. Your best bet for some trout would be like the previous post at Ononda on Canandaigua or on Keuka in Hammondsport or at Keuka state park in Branchport. Several times have seen guys pulling in lake trout while we were launching at the state park. Or try Sampson state park on Seneca, they have been catching browns right off the break wall (bring a long handled net though).
  24. Great lake lake for numbers and to take kids out on. Don't forget to keep as many as possible. It will only help this lake for the future! [ Post made via Android ]
  25. thanks again for the info guys! My cost savings I was comparing to was when I need to use the trolling plate to slow down I have to increase my rpms to about 1000 to get to desired speed and that burns alot of gas! So I'm going to try a 17p prop, will let you guys know in a few weeks how it works out.
