  1. Hello, I have a home made box with a reel on top filled with wire that people used to fish with at Seneca lake. This was built by my dad. I remember many boring hrs fishing with that thing in the boat. Well now that I know better I was wondering how you rigged up that thing. I know it gets bounced off the bottom. but as to how to hook it up i am clueless. can anyone give me some information on this? thanks Maisie
  2. Fishing Report It was a wonderful night out on the lake in my "Tin Can" I caught one 15lb salmon using a NK green and silver in 410 feet of water about 80 feet down. It was sooo cool to land the thing. we released it afterwards. much more fun than catching a Bass. I was so worried about losing the darn thing but i kept my line tight and it was OK. Now maybe i'll catch another one. maisie ====================
  3. great boat!!! maisie
  4. thanks all you guys who wrote. now the looking begins. haven't had much luck, but with fall coming maybe our luck will change. we do want to haul the boat around so i guess a 20 to 21ft is what we will look for. i would like to get an outboard. thanks again maisie
  5. I am in the market for a used fishing boat. i plan on selling our 17ft. Starcraft Supersportsman. What i was wondering if the best way to go is Aluminum or Fiberglass? what are the pros and cons for each? We plan on getting at least a 19ft boat for lake ontario. All you professional fisherpersons and non professional fisherpersons should have an opinion. thanks
  6. I also haven't had any luck at bear creek? i am wondering i should launch somewhere else? maisie
  7. Question? Pulled three steelhead off the top with sticks. I understand the sticks. were you using planer boards? I am trying to understand all of you guys shorthand talk. Maisie
  8. thanks for all the people who answered my post about fishing East of Rochester. We fished with stinger goby spoons and did fairly well in 15ft to 11 ft of water. and got a bunch of nice browns. So the browns are still near to shore in Ontario. maisie
  9. What a great fish, i was out in the afternoon there with my husband. but we only have a 17ft starcraft and i don't like those big waves so far out.
  10. thanks for all the help guys. i certainly hope i get it right.
  11. I am having a cousin come out this weekend to fish. i live east of Rochester. i wonder if Sodus, Ontario, Fair Haven or fishing in front of Webster is the best place to go this time of the year. and how far out. are the Browns done? i am a newbie at this and just wanted to try to make this a sucessful trip. We would like to fish for Lakers/browns and or kings. I have all the stuff, my dad was a big Lake Ontario Fisherman and i have lots of spoons stick bait everything. trying to follow in his shoes is a tough thing. I know he always went to Sandy Creek. so what do you think? thanks
  12. There is a place outside of Webster in Ontario, New York on the 104 called Steve's Custom Canvas and Upholstery 585 265 1170 i've seen his work on the boats parked out side.
  13. Thanks Jeff. So you think because of the boat traffic they are a bit shy? hmmm. Maybe i'll try Sodus next time. I have read going East is a good thing. Maisie
  14. We went out on Monday night the water was really flat. we couldn't find a fish anywhere. we went out to 100ft. it's like they all left. i was worried my fishfinder broke. i was wondering if this heat had anything to do with this. thanks. Maisie
