  1. Can't go wrong with Icom
  2. I haven't seen them in person but they look like a fat Jr. Thunderstick
  3. Do they come with the lure hanger?
  4. Did you know? All rods produced in June 2014 and onwards are covered under a limited one year warranty. There are a couple of ways to determine when your rod was produced: 1- Rods produced prior to June 2014 have a production sticker on the blank rather than a production code that has been screened directly onto the rod blank. Therefore, a rod that has a production code screened directly onto the rod blank is covered under a limited one year warranty. 2- Rods produced prior to June 2014 have a production sticker on the blank that has 3 letters on it (example MF-P). The first letter indicates the year the rod was produced (M= 2014), the second letter indicates the month the rod was produced (F= June). If the production code shows a date of “MF†(June 2014) or later (i.e. MG, MH, etc.), then that rod carries a one year limited warranty.
  5. Looking to buy 6 NEW Shimano Talora TLA86M2 8'6" Medium 2pc rods. Do you have any or do you know of a good place to buy them without having to pay New York tax. I can find the for $79.99 all day long. Any better deals out there Thanks in advance Greg
  6. Funny you mention a broken rod. I've fished since a kid at 12 years old, on my own, I'm 59 now and all that time I broke 1 rod. Was trout fishing the Delaware River around 1990 or so, had my rod laying on a rock. I turned around to do something then turned towards the rod a tripped on a rock and my foot landed 18 inches from the tip. It was a Berkley IM6 limited edition spinning rod. Luckly I bought 2 of them
  7. I use 30lb line and the mediums aren't rated for 30. Will that matter? Thanks Greg
  8. Check out Hillbilly Weatherman on facebook, funny guy
  9. Take a look at my PY 257 advertised here. Being brokered by Mike's Marine in Mexico
  10. My Berkley Power Rigger rods are about 20 years old and they have served me very well but they're getting tired and I think it's time to retire them. They're 8'6" 12-30 lb line and I used them for everything, salmon, trout and walleye. I looked online at Shimano Talora 8'6" rods in M/H and they run about $79 each. I like the fact that they have a life time guarantee Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance
  11. I long for the day....
  12. Should have put this up here 3 weeks ago
  13. And if you're spooling Daiwa reels, take the plastic handle nut cover off and take a 10mm socket and put it in a cordless drill and fill the reel in less than a minute
  14. I saw a few for $28 on ebay
  15. I agree Tim I've been using Trilene for years and never had an issue. I use the Big Game too. I spooled up a few reels with Suffix and the line seems very slippery and slips through the pads on my inline boards
  16. Yup. Tim, I heard you got a new boat?
  17. It's colder than a well diggers azz
  18. Hi Pap I used coat hanger wire and just bent it to fit but any rigid wire will work
  19. Last year I had 4 rods hang at the same time while Walleye trolling, the rods & line were tested to their limit and then some, I even popped an eye off one of my 15-20 year old rods. Anyhow, I’m respooling them all and here’s what I use. I know everybody has their way of doing it but here’s mine. It was easy to make with wood I had laying around. Used a piece of 2x6, ½†plywood, dowel and wire coat hanger. And a few rubber bands for spool tension
  20. Had me salivating

  22. I made a few flies a few weeks ago. Two days ago I ordered some powder paint to try on some homemade spoons. I'm going broke on ordering stuff I don't need. Here it is. Now if it warms up a bit I can try it out, in my garage of course.
