    Yea Andy, I'm looking to mount a center rigger. The end riggers are Walkers, so all I need to do is drill & tap them. But there's nothing in center. Guess I'll need to check it out first. I can cut and tap aluminum plates, I just thought maybe somebody does this on a regular basis. Thanks

    Does anyone know of someone or some outfit that makes downrigger backing plates? I used to buy them from a guy name Max from MI. on eBay but I don't see him selling anymore. Probably end up going with Cannon drs

    How often do you get hit with storms like that one?

    A not so funny thing happened. I wrote to Cannon and they didn't write back. I can imagine their response would be "that's funny, we never had any complaint" Its not good when the end user needs to remedy these problems. Sounds to me that there should be some sort of buffering mechanism in place. Or its just too fast

    I just read on another site. Cannon had a problem with their boom ends over the winter on the new downriggers. The material swelled and they were too stiff to rotate and could jump off the pulley. If you have one of these, call cannon and they will replace the boom ends, no charge.

    Fast is good but cable breaks? Seems Cannon should have done more R&D before putting them on the market.

    Jerky stops & starts was my biggest concern. How about when it stops at the surface? Is that a quick jerk also. These jerk stops could lead to the loss of a probe.

    I haven't found many reviews on the new STX riggers and I'm sure there are plenty of guys here that have them by now. Anyone think they're too fast? Any pros or cons? Thanks in advance Greg

    You'd think they could make the stringers & bulkheads out of a carbon fiber or something other than wood. But I guess that would be over the top expensive

    Anyone know if the new STX models have the same bolt pattern as the older swivel bases? The Mag 5 doesn't come with the swivel base but its the same speed motor. From what I've read, the only difference is the swivel base and extending boom. If you don't need the boom and you already have the bases, why pay 550 for a mag10 when you can get a mag5 for 350, right?

    Thanks Andy The day I watched you with your boat backed up onto the ramp, I believe you were replacing a transducer, that was the day that I've decided that I needed a Predator. I almost bought a Rampage about 3 months ago but I knew what I really wanted. Thank you! That is one wide glide boat. As far as the green dock, I've been on the orange dock for 21 years for a very good reason. The Orange & White docks are the best weather protected set of docks at Wright's Landing. I might move to the white dock 9if there's an opening), only because the orange dock doesn't have electric. Need to get rid of the dock queens on the white dock and fill it with PY's
