I have 17 acers (does it matter no) and I could care less if the dogs are on my property, have at it dogs! People ride quads through my property. Do I care? NO. But when dogs start running down deer & other wildlife, that's where something needs to be done. Of course I'm not going to shoot the dogs.

I can tell you that folks around my neck of the woods are serious about their deer hunting. And I know that these people wouldn’t think twice about putting a dog down for running deer. You can’t stop a dog from running deer after they got a taste of the meat, whether it be from a kill or even an old leg bone. Where did the dog evolve from, the Wolf. Like I said, its as bad as a Coyote running a deer, family pet or not. The dogs are not supposed to be off leash, period. And if the owner doesn't care about the well being of the dog, they shouldn’t own a dog. How do you like it when you’re out trolling and a guy on a jet ski is doing circles around your boat? Very frustrating! See the photo of the Coyote next to my user name. It wouldn't be there if I didn't love animals Of course I'm not going to harm the dogs.

I didn't write about this in any other forum. Yea, so if I see it happen again, I guess I'll call the dog warden. What a pia. I had no neighbors for 25 years. Now I have 2 and both have dogs and both let their dogs run free. I mean I live in the woods and all but still there's a leash law in my town. I had dogs, one passed last year. The thing is that they were never off a leash. But then again they were a breed that would run. A Malmute & a Husky. I love dogs, cats and animals in general. I'm done venting

About a month ago I caught my neighbors 2 dogs running a couple of deer and I told him about it. Today about 4pm I caught them running deer again. I called him and left a message. I'm trying to be a nice guy because I've known him since he was about 10 years old, he's 40 now. I told him thats as bad as cyotes running deer Deer season is next week or so. Do I call the dog warden if I catch them running deer?

Anyone use one. They say it gets rid of that twang noise a regular spring makes. I bought a few of those plastic Twang Busters, but I haven't installed them. People say they don't work

THE NEW YORK 3 ROD RULE WILL NOT EXPIRE THIS YEAR
Patriot replied to Patriot's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I wrote to NY DEC and they wrote back. According to 11-0103.12b, "Angling" means taking fish by hook and line. It includes bait and fly fishing, casting, trolling and also includes the use of landing nets in completing the catch of fish taken by hook and line. To constitute "angling" the taking must be in accordance with the following requirements: (1) the operator must be present and in immediate attendance when lines are in the water; * (2) one person may operate not more than two lines, with or without rod, except that one person may operate up to three lines in freshwater; * NB Effective until December 31, 2015 * (2) one person may operate not more than two lines, with or without rod; * NB Effective December 31, 2015 So it's in the law that an angler may use up to 3 hand lines. This is effective until 12/31/15. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions. -

You should take your wife fishing and also tackle shopping. I do.

The 10% discount on insurance is nice but just like an automobile, everyone should be required to take the course and pass the test. I was new at boating in 1988 and did the same thing for the discount. But after I was finished, the 10% didn’t matter. What mattered was that I learned a lot about correct boat handling and a whole lot more. There’s some charter operators the fish out of the same port as I do, that need to take or retake the course (especially about right-of-way) AND PASS THE TEST!

Chances are, a person with 1,000 posts, people will know them and what kind of person they are. Some John Doe comes in on day one and the first post is something for sale. What would come to mind first? Hmmm? Yea that’s right!

I've never gotten burned on a purchase here but I know that people have. Its all about trust. A few good posts WILL gain that trust. I'm not pointing fingers but if a guy/gal comes on here and their first post is to sell something, I'm not going to buy from them. Then if someone has a few hundred posts and wants to sell something, now I feel comfortable with that. I know a lot of the guys feel the same

I didn't mean to open a can o worms but how can anyone trust a person that comes in and wants to sell something, that has one or two posts? About the "Fishing Reports". Our fishery has suffered from lack of interest by the younger & older crowds. This is the best LO fishing website going. As far as promoting, paying to see the fishing reports wouldn't help the fishery. If I ever need to change my user name, its Can O Worms

Can't go wrong with Sil/blk Stinger. NBK and Purple Thunder was still doing it for us this year. Funny how the Monkey Puke has puked out for us over the past few years. I can't buy a hit on that one. The spoon bite was better than flies this year, for us. The Sea Sick Waddler did well too

There should be a rule about selling stuff here. No selling until you have at least 10 legitimate posts.

Oh I see. Us non-paying visitors get the cheap version

Internet Explorer keeps asking me to update to INT EXPLO 8 but I've hear of the many issues they've had with that newer format

All and well and that is what I end up doing. However, the back button should work. I'm glad its not just me.
