Allow trained and approved teachers to CCW
Patriot replied to carpedium's topic in Open Lake Discussion
My thoughts exactly. Put armed security in the schools. Most Gov. buildings have armed guards, why not schools. Its not going to get any better if something like this isn't done because sometimes its hard to tell which people are mentally on the edge. -
Name: Greg DeRose Location: NY Home Port: Oswego Boat Name/Type: Penn Yan, what else is there I fish for: Trout Salmon Walleye ================== I’ve been coming to LOU for a few years now and I never did introduce myself. Hi!, I’m Greg DeRose. I’ve talked face to face with and have made friends with a few of the guys that frequent this site. My first encounter was with Brian (total chaos), a technical kind of guy, who likes changing lures, tapes, etc. until its right and catching fish. Second encounter was with Big Dave, at the ELOSTA derby/picnic. A big man who catches money fish. And of course, Tom Allen of A-TOM-MIK lures, a good old boy who makes a hell of a fly. Cheers Guys I came up with the user name “Patriot†simply because I love life and love my country. I’m proud to say, I’m the inventor of the Tri Flash Salmon Flasher. I’m no longer in business but I’m still a firm believer in its ability to catch fish and I use it every time I troll for Salmon. I keep my boat in Oswego at Wright’s landing and have had the same slip there since 1993. We keep our camper at K&G Lodge & Campground just outside of Oswego and have also been there since 1993. Even though I love trout & salmon fishing, my interests have mainly switched to Walleye fishing and eating. Since I’ve lived in the woods all my life, I am a hunter also. Oh and I’m retired at a mere 57 years old and enjoying and loving life.. Thanks LOU, this is my “go to†fishing web site and I come here nearly every day A picture of my Dad. He passed on 10/20/12. I LOVE YOU DAD! This is my Walleye rig, a fish catching machine.

So I ended up using Hickory Hi Mountain spice & cure and put it in the smoker, added Hickory chips two times and left it in there for 6 hours. Yumm!

Hey, come on over to the orange dock. Its cheaper without electric and whatever else they offer
-
Ok, so the butcher messed up. He made a bunch of chop meat instead of leaving it in pieces for me to cut up in strips to make jerky in my smoker. I guess he thought I was going to use a dehydrator. Now I need to go to plan B and make dehydrator jerky. Anyone have a teriyaki recipe for that?
-
I saw that ad last night. Scam crossed my mind

Anyone have a good venison teriyaki jerky recipe for the smoker. Looking to do about 10 pounds. Thanks guys Greg

And the DEC says there are no mountain lions in NY. Here's a cool looking yote I shot with my camera in my back yard.

If you live within the projected path of the strom, today would be a good time to stock up on fresh water for drinking, I have 30 gallons. Other water for bathing and flushing toilets, I have 250 gallons. Make sure your generator is working properly, mine is. Have a good supply of gas and oil for it, I have 60 gallons of gas and 3 gallons of oil. If you have a boat with an outboard, there is gas in it. Make sure ditches are clear of leaves so they don't clog drainage pipes. This could wash out your driveway. Mine are clear Make ice, so if the power does go out, you can put your ice and food in your fish cooler, I have ice. Make sure your snow removal equipment is in working order, mine is. GOT TO THINK AHEAD GUYS! I AM READY! I hope

If nothing else, at least your 30 miles closer to our favorite fishing hole

From my neck of the woods, proly best you could be called is a G-Neck. That’s short for magenta-neck. But never full red. On a serious note, pulling your house behind your truck is rough on transmissions.
-
Kinda hard to become a redneck, living only 30 miles from the big city, don't ya think? Besides, I figure a person is born a redneck. I know a guy who has been trying for years and still hasn't got it right. Ya might be part redneck if you can pee anywhere within 1000 feet of your house without being seen by the neighbor, which I can. and guess what... you got it.

Buy the gun private and you don't have to worry about it. If you buy the rifle from your buddy, your good to go. Buy any weapon from a dealer and they'll check up on you. I bought a rifle in june. The day I went to pay & pick it up, he made one phone call and I was good to go.

Biggest Problems for Great Lakes Fisherman????
Patriot replied to ITO Flies's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Clear water is the problem, thank you Mr. Zebra mussel & others. Back in the early 90’s you could almost catch fish on a bare hook. Flat lining for Browns, 30 feet off the back of the boat was great in the Spring.. Now, the lure needs to be 50 miles back. -
Yea, I didn't check them all out but figured it would be handy to have
-
Maybe I'm trolling too slow. I've been about 0.09 to 1.6. I'll try kicking it up next time out. I'm fishing a resiviour downstate New York. Any other ideas would be great. Thanks guys Greg
-
I've been trolling for them, most of the spring and summer. But now they're no longer bitting. Do I need to be jigging, casting? What's on the menu? Thanks guys Greg

After today, most people need to purchase a new one, unless you have a lifetime license.
