I am a rage fan but used muzzys for years before switching. Rural king has the 100 grain bolt package for $30....with a $10 rebate...so for $20 you get 3 bolts..3 muzzys..and 3 field.points. might be worth a try to see how they fly.for you. Bolts are victory brand I think. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

With all the rain Saturday we decided to take a road trip to look at elk. Hard to believe they are as close as Dubois pa. We saw well over 100 with some impressive bulls in the mix. We actually heard a few still bugling too. Pretty cool day. My nephews girlfriend took a cell pic through my binocs of the biggest one. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

My browning strike forces hung out since October 2017. I pulled them 1st week of August. Kinda cool to catch the growth stages of a buck was surprised to find full cards and still 40% battery. Most deer that passed this cam were running...wondered why til the coyote pics. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Have one guy hold line tight. Run the shaft of a screwdriver over the fleas a few times. They fell right off for us. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Rubbing the wire with a screwdriver shaft worked last year. Haven't been up since this strain of fleas came around this year

What's holding you back from fishing a tournament?
hawkeye625 replied to Fishtails's topic in Open Lake Discussion
A simple survey of past players might help the directors. I'd guess they only get feedback from complaints. I'd like to see the AM side: 5 or 6 fish with culling no observer a start time - maybe 15 - 30 minutes prior to pro's - just to keep everyone somewhat honest if bad weather pops up - or a call in to tournament control with another boat as witness. weigh in same as above 15-30 minutes prior to pro's Saturday - Sunday event - no vacation time needed money back OPTIONAL if you choose not to fish due to bad weather, but, you mush check in prior to start time to cancel. captains license - no - personally don't care, but, you will lose more players than you might gain - communication - no - but difficult to police with no observer Just my opinion. How Much 50Lb Backing
hawkeye625 replied to SemperFish's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
The 45 series will only hold 300 copper and around 150 yards of backing. You'd need to bump up a size or 2 for longer coppers. 30 series is what most run for 1000 ft of wire. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Probe talk
hawkeye625 replied to NymphO's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I think the point was...my depth raider might read 2.2....your fishhawk might need to read 2.7 to achieve the same speed. If you run at 2.2 because that's what you heard me say...you'd be running .5mph slower than I actually am. Lots of good info here...but don't get in the "rut" of sticking to temp. Keep a good eye on your graph and be sure to fish the marks. Take note of the temps the marks are in...and in what conditions. -
Niagara County Pro-Am payouts
hawkeye625 replied to Tourneygirl's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
A well deserved thank you to penny.....she was put in a touchy situation and made a decision...as players..we have to respect that decision. What transpired at the pavilion after we all made a group decision was sad for the sport...and though I was no part of the mahem....i humbly apologize to penny for All of us. Keep on mind guys....everyones safety is her responsibility. A special thanks to the blue eyes lady crew for towing me back to the dock. Thankfully...my boat died before we cleared the pierheads...had we been in the lake when my motor died....well...my guess is we would've made the news....something everyone should remember when questioning a safety related call to end a tournament. Just because you feel safe in your craft....things happen. Lucky for me it happened in the harbor! Thanks again penny....keep up the good work. What's holding you back from fishing a tournament?
hawkeye625 replied to Fishtails's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Great thread Rod. I encourage anyone taking the time to read it to enter an event. We started fishing the great lakes around 2010 and started fishing the LOC, then the Niagara Pro AM, and the LOTSA event. That's about all my vacation time allows for, but, would fish them all if I had the time off. Not only is it fun, but, you get the opportunity to mingle with other fishermen....and make new friends. For what it's worth, I run a 22ft aluminum and usually fish with 1 other person - 5 rods. The only time I've felt uncomfortable on the lake, the tournament control called it due to small craft advisory. The best part of any event, you can see how you would've faired if you ponied up the big money and played with the PRO's. You might be surprised in what you find. -

I have a 92 sabre and they are in the middle of the floor. The back of my tanks are just in front of the dog box. Here's the link to crestliners customer service. They may be able to help. You also might try your local crestliner dealer. If their mechanic has been around a while, he should have an idea. Hope this helps. https://www.crestliner.com/contact-us/
