Just to update, it was the timing. Not sure how it got out of time on the ride home, but, it was. Next weeks derby will be the true test. If she makes it through, I'll be happy. Thanks for all the replies. I'll keep you posted if my issues continue.

anyone else having issues with the APP? I keep getting a No Forum message in the APP. If I delete the APP and re-install it'll work for that day, the next day it gives me the same error. Not sure if it's my phone or not.

SPoon size for kings

I have both but have been using the brutes for 2 seasons now. One day, we took my little boat to Erie - I hadn't used the captains packs for a while. It was amazing how slow they were in comparison. Brutes are scary fast - and take a little getting use to. That being said, I would never go back to captains packs. It was almost annoying to bring the rigger up from only 50 FOW with the captains pac. Not sure if that helps, but I like mine. I dont' usually fish deeper than 130FOW with my riggers so cant comment on real deep.

just a thought, why not run a piece of "conduit" from the front to the back. That way, if you decide to make changes down the road, you have an easy route for wires/hoses. I'd leave a small piece of rope in there too, then all you need to do is tie on what you want to pull through, even if it's years down the road. Don't imagine 20' would cost much, but, it sure would save a headache down the road. Maybe cap the ends so no bugs/critters get in there.

I had one several years ago. Nice boats. Over 6 years, only used the live wells once, and it was difficult to get all the perch out. I would suggest leaving them out and modifying with a useful storage area - maybe drawers. Leave the top flat for a cooler. - OR - modify the front to accommodate a larger cooler or 2. That was my plan, then I bought a bigger boat. I really miss the inset side panels. We used that area to hang all my spoons. Never had to worry about leaning on an exposed hook, and, cut down on the number of boxes in the boat. Also easy to see what colors you had. we also laid dipsy's and flashers in the flat part of that area. Never bounced out, and, again, no need for boxes. Mine was actually a FS model. Same hull just had a folding back to back seat on the passenger side. I thought about building boxes with drawers under the driver seat, but, never got around to it. The pedestal just seems like waisted space. It was nice being open, but, we seemed to always be tripping over stuff laying on the floor. Some of that stuff might have been out of the way in an easily accessible drawer. The shark colored vinyl isn't too bad to clean, I put it in my current boat. You could always toss a throw rug in for the summer outings w/kids if it gets too hot on the foot.

Thanks for the replies guys but was looking for feedback on fuel injected models. I have a 2010 tohatsu but seem to be cleaning the carb out a lot the past few seasons. Even when treating the fuel. just curious if anyone is running one of the newer efi model kickers and how they like them. Suzuki has been out a couple years now and it looks like tohatsu makes one now. Any one have good or bad experiences?

We tried wire diver sets for eyes last fall. The braid out fished the wire 8 to 1. Not sure if it was vibration/hum of the wire or what. Works well for Salmon, but didn't seem to work on the eyes. Even varied the amount of line out figuring it was a depth issue...but that didn't seem to help. We only had 1 braid diver on board, but it did the bulk of the catching.

1994 Crestliner Sabre V205 - Transom material & replacement

Mine is a mercruiser. Crestliner had a poor design with the caps on the back corners. Water runs down the rails and seeps under the corner caps..then it runs down onto the transom. Most of the ones I've seen, start to rot in the corners, that's where mine was bad. The tie down hooks started coming loose from the rotten wood. Mine wasn't horrible and likely would been ok for several years, but, I don't like to tempt fate and figured I'm going to own the boat for a long time so replaced it. Chances are, if it's starting to go bad, it will be in the corner. Take a screwdriver and poke at the transom behind the batteries. That should tell you all you need to know. Get some good sealant and run a bead around the corner caps. That should stop the water intrusion and give you a few more years if it's not too bad now. -

I have a 1992 sabre with a I/o and had the transom replaced last winter. I had someone else do it, but, I do know he pulled the engine/outdrive and had to cut the plate across the top of the transom to pull the old wood/replace new. Replaced with marine grade plywood. 2 sheets epoxied together and painted with sealer. I know he had issues getting the new piece in, vaguely remember something about the kicker cut out giving him problems. My transom is cut out for the kicker motor. The only welding involved was on the top of the transom where cut to access plywood. A local welder did mine for $100. The outboard model of the sabre has the sandwiched aluminum transom. -

glow seems to work almost any time of day. I always have something glow, and something green in my spread. To the OP's original question...nobody has given advice on cold/vs warm water. Now I'm curious. For me...running longer leads behind the same flashers and slowing down a little bit, for cold water...seems to work 1.8 to 2.0 down speed.. Seems like they like it a little faster in the warmer water. -

White green dot crush glow is a staple in my spread. For me...glow in low light...chrome in the sun. Do a search on this site...there was a post a few months ago on favorite flasher combos. You can spend a ton chasing the perfect combo..but honestly...white...green ..and chrome...should be all you need. Green and glow in flies...or just get the stud and glow stud. All you will need. I agree 100%. Hats off to LOTSA..it just keeps getting bigger and better. The salmon school flew by this year. I can only hope to remember some to the things I learned come spring. Thanks for putting this together LOTSA. Great cure for winter blues.
