  1. The welland canal is a great early hotspot for kings. They show up there before the bar.
  2. No. We have been given a number everytime. We fished for the day and called on our way out.
  3. You should just keep doin what you're doin. No need to call in " Im just passin through" " That flare gun is ok in the us." "The beers for later". Good luck
  4. Its difficult to see what point you're trying to make. The link you provided proves what I'm saying. I have crossed many times. With an ontario licence. With enhanced licence. Crossing is a big deal if you dont meet canadian regs. As soon as you motor over the line you are subject to all canadian laws. The one link you put up is for canadian citizens. You can skip that part. Make plans and cross. Like everything it get easier the more you do it.
  5. Alot of posts lately have mentioned rochester as the best place with cold winter. Oak orchard to Ibay. Save a couple hours drive.
  6. Yes. On the west end, border patrol officers ride along and check. It is the same as crossing the bridge. Like stated above, if you drift across the line. You are in canada.
  7. The driver cant be drinking in the us. In canada a beer in a cooler stowed below deck is a $200 ticket. It can not be stowed below. Only exception large boat with head. I forget the size.27'.
  8. And when you leave. A canadian licence is also a good idea. Home country has nothing to do with it.
  9. Go online and look up canadian regs. You need to call everytime you enter canadian waters. At that point all canadian rules take effect.
  10. If you guys figure this out, let me know. Ive been fishing with the same pig headed buddy for years. Hes a full fly guy. I like it thread up. Works both ways.
  11. Dont believe it. The rules of the country you are in apply. Can of beer on board in canada $150 fine. If you run three rods in canada, they will find you...fast.
  12. Close down the tribs. Start up a special court that just screws with sportsman. More laws, rules and regs. So if I kill a fish and dont eat it I'm a murderer and a scumbag. Hell how about the ones that swim, then go belly up, during a release. Am I still a murderer? Not being able to sell them is enough.
  13. Why do you need lc on rigger reels? What are you counting in rough water? Im lost. We got penn 330 gts a couple years ago, love em. They have been bullet proff so far. The squal is a new version of the old thing. Also have a couple 320s and 345s. One bad clicker and penn shipped a new one.
  14. Amonia. Let them soak.
  15. We use it as a backer on riggers.
  16. Does anyone use dacron? Works great, cheep.
  17. I wasnt very clear. All ive used is muffs. I/o. My point was that the boat will not duplicate real world conditions in the driveway.
