  1. Here is a link to how you might want to do it. I like the diamond plate on the bow idea. http://imhooked.com/cgi-bin/forumsyabb/YaBB.pl?num=1303078250
  2. I hope your warranty works out for you, rshubuck. Freezing temperatures and electric trolling motors don't mix. I found that out some time ago. I was looking at that Terrova 80# thrust motor, but with all things considered I chose the 70# V2. For that 10 more pounds of thrust it takes that much more amperage cutting into run time. All of these motors have a sweet spot where they will run their best. You have to find it for your particular boat to get the most efficient results.
  3. I have a 24v Minn Kota V2 auto pilot with a foot control. My 16 Alumacraft boat is a bit to pull being it has a console, carpeting , live well and a casting deck. Add another person, the gear, and down riggers + four batteries and a gas can for the big motor. It adds up. One thing the 24v does is give more time on the water. I use a 12v 55 lb Minn Kota Enduro transom mount motor to push. It helps with conserving batt power when constant trolling. It also gives me that little bit extra when the fish want it fast. We have a few electric only reservoirs and 10 HP limit lakes here. The set up suits them all just fine. Trolling motors are not designed for speed, but for thrust. The V2 70/24 should be plenty enough for your boat.
  4. Here is a device that you can use with an outboard jet pump. Great for trolling at low speeds. I am the New Jersey rep. PM me if interested. Mike b1pqTkaTP8E
  5. LOL, they had a hard time finding my camera at times too! I am glad you guys enjoyed it.
  6. I'll do that, Rod. They are in the river with a few being caught. Water is up and the temps are in the mid 40's. I will be shaking down the boat shortly. All the runoff has it high and cold.
  7. You told me it was her boat, too! muskybob has it right with getting those riggers up high. It will be a lot easier on your back, Rod. I use a trolling board that puts them higher. Here are a couple pics of the back of my little water/big water boat.

  11. Quite an eye opening piece. All in the name of someone's bottom line. The go green effort is troubling in the fact that is takes more to get there than it was before the start. At what cost to the benefit of what? Evidence in what ethanol production really costs as well as running these 50 story monsters.
  12. Here is a video for a friend. I observed for Capt. Ace and the East Coast Boys in 2009 and can honestly say I owe him one. I learned a whole lot about Salmon fishing from him. _XQB_cM2BAA
  13. Painted, coated or bare? Picture? Thanks
  14. Finned or not?... Picture?
  15. You wonder what the plan was when our maker made snow geese. Just what is all the fuss about?. To think of the thousands of miles they fly honking their heads off all the way. Even resting and feeding there is constant clatter never ending. What in the world are they trying to say? Are they happy to be alive or complaining they have to fly so darn far? LOL! wHcXrT5HtjI
  16. Thanks for looking. This fox was some 140 yards away. I took the video with a super zoom point and shoot Canon Camera. It was tough to hold and keep it steady. I found myself jumping along with the fox as I looked through the viewfinder.
  17. I came across this fox looking for dinner. Quite intent on trying to catch it. And at times we think we have it rough! 5SCZ2DK2bpg
  18. Are they rattle lures or plain?
  19. I saw this awhile back. What a battle that must of been.Amazed at the hate these critters possess for each other defending their turf.
  20. Yep, powder burns cooler and faster while the synthetic stuff needs heat all the heat from the cap or primer. 200 degree difference. That fire hole is the first thing to check. Congrats on the doe.
  21. Check out this video of a couple of bucks locked up and the bird hunters who help them...kind of long, but worth it. http://heartlandoutdoors.com/index.php/tims/story/a_cool_video_about_locked_bucks/
