  1. I took the mandatory New Jersey boating course some years back and to tell you the truth I don't remember a whole lot of what I might have been taught. What I do remember is that the reason the law was implemented was because of the ridiculous antics of jet skiers and power boaters with no regard for anything, let alone the rules of the water. There were a lot of people griping about the law. In the end I guess we are better off for it, but at the same time it was a money grab for those administering the tests. The discrepancy between the costs of the testers makes this very evident. I don't mind paying the little extra fee for my boaters license. However, I highly object to the cost of testing. It should be the same across the board.
  2. Very good video. Impressed with that Eye of Mine lens. Is that the standard or the pro version?
  3. Rod length and reel size would help. Thanks.
  4. Screwy Louie was gone from Oswego last year already. Hard to make a profit in this economy. Both of these stores were geared toward the boat fisherman. Except for a couple of diehards and a few charters the port is pretty much dead during the week.
  5. Andy, how is that thing in the wind. Wouldn't it act as a sail with the back open?
  6. I often wonder how this Atlantic might have tasted. It would have been a lot cheaper to spice it up and try it I know that. I might even have been happier with it than I am of the Taxidermy....that is for another thread.
  7. Truer words never spoken. It is not just the gasoline, but with everything in our daily lives. We do need to be proactive and at least attempt to vote the thuggery out. Sometimes I think it is bigger than all or us. It will take all of us to bring it down to size Great post.
  8. Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it!
  9. I made some video of the memories of the year past. Here is one with scenes from Oswego. The fishing was excellent while fishing with Ace Charters and observing on T-K Charters. FO1keEpwlGE
  10. Merry Christmas to all of my friends and fishermen of the Great Lake Ontario.
  11. Would not have expected anything less from Ryan. Some guys might have hemmed and hawed. As Vince said, "Good people helping good people"
  12. You have a PM
  13. Likewise, Greg. It was a good time for sure. I learned a lot and took something from every boat I trolled with. What I savor the most is the friendships made sharing the thrill.
  14. Double post
  15. Thanks Pete, RJ, Rod and all of those who watched the picture show. This is the only place I put the link and it got quite a few hits all things considered.
  16. Yes, Mortigan it is. The camera was quite new to me at the time. I am still pretty much in experiment mode with it. For one thing the audio sux and it is hard to tell just what you are aiming at without a LCD screen or a viewfinder. The underwater stuff I tried did not turn out. I have it figured out now, but wish it would have worked on a few kings and a nice steelhead coming to the net The camera was looking vertical through the surface instead of horizontal at the fish, lol. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the comments and the questions.
  17. A little experiment using a GoPro and my point and shoot on the second day of the Sodus Point Pro Am. One last fish to fill the box for the Fishin' Magician crew . After five fish were netted fairly early the salmon bite died. Capt Ryan with the vote of his team went inside to fish for brown trout. The plan (after losing a big king on the troll in) was to add another 5 fish to the box and then go back out and try for the bigger salmon. Number 10 was a good brown so the plan changed a bit. As number 11 hit the deck Capt Ryan asked the crew if they wanted to go try for the salmon. It was then that the big brown answered! b4UuN5vLteo
  18. Great clip... Brings memories of the baby chicks and live mouse harness to catch some impressive bass back when.... What a catch with the video camera running, eh?
  19. Thanks guys! I am glad you enjoyed it. I know a few of those guys too, Greg... I thought maybe I knew one a little more than I did, but that is for another video. PM me your email address. I'll see to it you get the stills of the adventure..
  20. Prefish Thursday and Big Fish Friday before the Oswego Pro Am had some interesting moments. Fishing West of port we had a good day, Thursday. There would have been a bunch more netting scenes had someone videoed me, lol. Big fish Friday was a little tougher. With a little time left on the clock it was a race to get the last fish aboard and to the scale. That fish helped the boat place.......I think! lZ44wtXb1qw
  21. Yep, Slimy Grimy and not just for the hull... http://www.slimygrimy.com/
  22. I guess I drew the right straw in getting to observe with these guys. Bob and Tom of T-K Charters had Kevin Davis and his father Dick team up with them for the Oswego leg of the ProAm tournament. It was quite the thrill to be with some of Oswego's best bloodying up the deck! The team finished a respectable 6th and opened my eyes a bit wider to how to get it done. A northeast blow had the fish scattered making for a tough couple of days. wyrygLACQeo
  23. Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
  24. Here is a slideshow of a few days fishing in Oswego before and during the Pro Am tournament. I was blessed to be fishing with some of the best fishermen on Lake O. Thanks for the ride guys... JcVTEUvyb-0
