  1. Cool vid! Nice seeing kids get fish! Just my 2 cents - run your snubber off the back of the dipsey instead of ahead of it! Good job!!!!
  2. Thank you!!! Guy from my boat was leading the laker division but he can't make awards ceremony - just wanted to know if he makes it or gets bumped....Thanks! Any results after 4 would be greatly appreciated!!!
  3. Could someone post a pic of the leaderboard at the end of the day....that would be great!!! Thanks!
  4. Could someone post a pic of the leaderboard at the end of the day....that would be great!!!
  5. Let me know what you have - new or used.... PM me please. Thanks!
  6. We will be there!!! Anyone know what the hours are for Sunday? Wasn't sure what time you could start and when weigh in closes.
  7. We were out there yesterday - took a little while to get things sorted out for us. We finally found a decent screen and fish that were willing to bite. Worked the area for a while with only small fish to show for. Not much too report honestly- primarily a spoon bite for us. We ended up 15 for 17 for the day, but nothing over 6 1/2 pounds. Had a great time and a great little event. My wife spent most of the day on the wheel while myself and another guy worked the back of the boat. Early in the morning she was driving and we had boards out, and she said - "I think this guy is going to come over on us" he was outside of us and we were inside, and I said - just keep it straight and watch the boards....give him room if he needs it but don't drive the boards behind the mooring balls that are out for sailboats....she kept talking to me and at one point I glance over, but we had plenty of space (my wife tends to exaggerate at times) anyways - finally she starts freaking out a little, and I look over and there is a boat almost inside of out outside board, but in front of the board - the guy was solo and said sorry so no worries at all if he is on this board and reading this thread. I know how hard it is solo as I have done it many times...unfortunately we were pinned up against those mooring balls, so we couldn't move much. Probably should have paid a little more attention to what my wife was saying but she is pretty good on the wheel most of the time. Again a great little event and we will certainly do it again. Hoping for better results this coming weekend!!!
  8. Nice!! Sounds like something I would do. You must be an engineer. Just glancing at it you could probably get a better trendline by fitting a polynomial to it...would give you a better idea as to the weight of next year's winner if you are using the trendline for predictive measures. Pretty cool!
  9. What's wrong with back to back uni knots to connect mono and braid?
  10. Mike, 7-15 feet mostly. I don't think we took anything deeper than about 16 feet of water. Typical brown trout spread. -Bob
  11. Went out of Fair Haven this morning with my buddy Josh and his dad. Hit a mixed bag of browns, lakers and kings. Pretty steady action all morning. No real fire drills but managed to put over 20 fish in the boat. Fished until about 10:15am and then picked up and headed in. C&R'd all the browns and the 3 Lakers with the exception of 1 brown which was gill wrapped and wouldn't have made it. They boxed the 3 kings we landed. Found water that ranged from 44 to 46.5 degrees with areas of some color and other areas that were pretty clear. Biggest king went a little over 17 pounds, another around 15 and one around 12. No real big browns - biggest brown went around 7 pounds. Decent morning on the water regardless. Pretty even split between spoons and sticks in terms of what they were hitting.
  12. I like them both now! Very nice trophies!!!!
  13. 1 looks more artistic....that would be my vote. From an aesthetic viewpoint it is balanced. The head of the fish does not hang over the sides and the body of the fish frames the acrylic holder where presumably you put the winners name or whatever. Number 2 your attention is drawn away from the center of the piece....focal point is outside of the base.
  14. To get our minds off the ice - here is a vid of a few hours one morning out of fair haven with my buddy's kids. Couldn't keep the rods in the water! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkK3HNe9K9M Enjoy!
  15. Took my buddy's kids out for a few hours one morning in July out of Fair Haven...couldn't keep the rods in the water! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkK3HNe9K9M Enjoy!
  16. What kind of help are you looking for?
  17. It doesn't really matter which you set first...if you have 300 feet of copper out or 300 feet out on your dipsey....the dipsey dives at greater rate than the copper...even with a standard size 1 dipsey and on a 3 setting you should not have any problems passing the copper across the dipsey...just make sure you are going in a straight line and not turning when you try this. Also helps to kick up the speed just a tad...
  18. Ours is 140 quart and we couldn't get it closed LOL!
  19. We got out yesterday. Started setting up in 125 fow and trolled out. ..Starting hitting fish right away, and worked that waypoint for the rest of the morning. Went 10-14 in around 3 hours. Quick 3 man limit and got another one which we tossed while clearing rods. Had to make room in the cooler, but a good morning for sure. Looks like lots of fish are starting to show at this end of the lake now. Pure Mayhem for the short time we were out. Every rod we had out took a shot with the exception of one dipsey which we couldn't get to fire. Most fish were in the 22-26 pound class but we did get one that was 29. Took the cooler to Oswego on the way home to have them cleaned so we wouldn't have to deal with the carcasses. Shot of the big fish below as well as a shot after the first hour when we had to make room in the cooler!.
  20. Took a few kings one morning on light line up high when the temps were screwed up a few weeks back....took a solid 20 minutes to land this guy....audio isn't very good because had the GoPro in the waterproof case - but if you turn the volume up a little you can hear the reel scream! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMwXiuUBw-E
  21. Here's the video we took on the GoPro of one of the kings. Fought the fish right up top....audio isn't the best because I forgot I had the camera in the waterproof case - but if you turn the sound up a bit you can hear it screaming! http://youtu.be/iMwXiuUBw-E
  22. Fished out of FH yesterday morning and went 8 for 9. Worked shallow early and took 4 browns and a laker, then slid out and landed 3 kings and lost a nice fish on a 200 copper. Will post a video later of one of the kings we took yesterday...water was pretty cold. 46 degrees down 27 feet on the inside.
