  1. With all the ups and downs it was a great weekend that won't be soon forgotten. Thank you for letting me be a part of it Joe. "Go Back!" They said. Lol Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Good luck and be safe! See ya out there!! Time to see if I can run with the big dogs. [ Post made via Android ]
  3. Is the event run (weigh in) from the state launch just north of the parkway? What's the cutoff to sign up? [ Post made via Android ]
  4. I plan on using the extra 2 weeks for traditional only. Just a stick and a string. WOOHOO!! [ Post made via Android ]
  5. You know me Nick, I think I'm pretty cool tempered easy to get along with. That guy told me that my 3 yr warranty only covers the radio and that if it got wet its not covered. That Mic is advertised and listed as submersible but if it doesn't work they don't care. I got a little hot with him. Sometimes I guess you have to. [ Post made via Android ]
  6. After calling straight to cobra today and finding out that the 3 yr warranty is only good on the radio itself. The price of the mic was about 1/3 the price of the radio. After a brief argument I have a brand new mic on its way compliments of Cobra. I'm not one to walk on people but I can't stand getting stepped on! BTW Standard horizon has a $20 rebate available for some of thier VHF.
  7. My boat is on the small side so it goes on and off the trailer pretty easy. We camp at Lakeside State Park, its cheap and easy. Just like other state parks it has electric, bathrooms, showers, laundry mat. Can't beat it for less than $25 a night. About 1 mile from the launch. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. My connections are good. I recently reterminated the antenna, good connection there. My Mic has controls built in they don't work either. There is no feed to the radio. Who said I was talking to you Nick.Lol [ Post made via Android ]
  9. Where can I get a mic for my cobra VHF? Tired of messing with this one. I can hear you but you can't hear me. It only works when it wants to. Should I try another brand? How are the unidens?
  10. Thats still one of my favorite things to do. Even with all my trolling equipment. I have just as much fun standing in my side yard throwing flies at the bluegill and crappies in my pond. Even better if you can get a kid involved.
  11. Great job! Sounds like you found a few fish and had some fun! Keep the reports coming. I will be up in a couple weeks and I'll take all the help I can get.
  12. I use the same seasoning on the grill. Quick and easy. [ Post made via Android ]
  13. Anyone try a thermacell? I'm not crazy about bug spray near my tackle. [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Just curious how many teams did this last year? Is there a minimum boat size? [ Post made via Android ]
  15. Good going man!! I heard it was slow for a lot of people including us.
  16. I use buckets tied to my front cleats, same effect out of the way. My 16ft sylvan with 40 hp Johnson will do 2.0 with buckets and 3.2 without. [ Post made via Android ]
  17. Run that dipsy out away from the boat if you wanna run it shallow. Dipsies are not the only way to run them. Try it 8 ft off the ball on your rigger 60-120 down. Also I run them alot on copper. Taken Lakers, kings, browns, bows, Atlantic with FF on 200-300ft of copper. Good colors you got there though. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. 10 colors should put you 40-50ft @ 2.5mph. Speed it up a little and you'll be in the thermocline that's just setting up. IMHO leadcore is more for targeting silvers this time of year. They happen to prefer a little more speed. Pull an SS spoon @2.5-3.0 for silvers or 3.0-3.8 for rainbows that sit just above temp 35-40ft deep [ Post made via Android ]
  19. I use both swivels. Makes it easy to change flies for different combos.make sure the ball bearing swivel stays on the front. Cheater length can't be more than rod length. I keep mine 4-6'. [ Post made via Android ]
  20. When I started I used 30lb big game backer and a 300ft spool of wire. 300 ft on a spool will give you more like 400ft on the line counter. It lasted a year or so. Now I run 1000ft. [ Post made via Android ]
  21. I have that unit on my 16ft sylvan. Best investment I've made. Setting the ducer is the trick to any fish finder. I also noticed a difference isolating the power to it. [ Post made via Android ]
  22. I have that same grill we love it. Gas for a quick burger for the wife and I but enough space for a party. This is my first smoker done a bunch of salmon and trout on it. Tried some venison jerky that turned into dog treats.Oops What mods are you talking about? [ Post made via Android ]
  23. If its misfeed Use an ammo that you've used before. Most .22lr ammo is soft nose and easily damaged while feeding. Try one you had luck with before and stick to it. My 10/22 wont feed xpert they are too flat and soft every 3-4 shots it will misfeed. If its failure to eject then the extractor may be worn. [ Post made via Android ]
  24. Temp is key. House autry is good but don't forget Uncle Buck's at bass pro. [ Post made via Android ]
  25. I currently run big jobs with 150ft of 150lb stainless cable. This might fill half the spool. After a slight incident last weekend I backlashed some cable and linked it pretty bad. So my question is If I fill the spool with 300ft will it improve the performance of my rigger? In theory gear ratio improves as your reel gets full. No bashing Big Jons here I have no complaints and the speed doesn't bother me running 13lb weights @ 100ft+ [ Post made via Android ]
