  1. Good things come to those who are patient Still can't wait though.
  2. I made it out around 2:30 this afternoon. After fixing a frozen speedometer we went 3-5 all LLs 18" 30-45 down over 100 fow. All wee spoon bite nothing on flasher and fly. All in all a good first trip of the year. Boat started and floated all day that alone kept me happy Wish I had more time on the water though. I don't like the village launch either. It is so steep that my boat takes in water over the transom before it floats off the trailer.
  3. I'll be there. Not sure what time though. I'm taking the wife. First trip out this year.
  4. Watch out for the fish gods when they get upset!!
  5. It's best to have the warmer temps. It helps the resin to kick up. Make sure the area under your glass is rough enough to make it stick. The resin you put down should be enough for the next layer of cloth to soak up. The cloth soaks up the resin! Don't coat the cloth! OR Coat the cloth away from your project and then apply it like tape. This gives you the right amount of resin not too much. A hair dryer will help it set up faster. May be able to use small drill holes and tooth picks to hold it. They are easily patched later. Not a professional! I don't build boats I work on aircraft!
  6. I just bought an inflatable at bass pro for that reason Any one have one? Warning: These PFDs are slow to inflate in temperatures below 40 deg. and should be worn partially inflated at these temps!!! I'm glad I read the instructions on this one.
  7. Don't let that snow stop ya woody. I just dug mine out yesterday although its a little one. Got the batteries charged and fired the motor. Can't wait till the weekend.
  8. Jason could you put up some pics of the new flies. I need to see if I got anything close or need to order new.
  9. I know spinners work well on alot of species. Can these be trolled. They come in various shapes, sizes, and colors to adapt to situations. Has anyone tried this. I hear of people trolling crankbaits and other lures we don't talk about much here. I have a handful that are productive in the creeks, wondering if they can pull double duty. I'm talking inline spinners, Mepps, Blue fox, Panther Martin, etc. If so which ones and how? Thanks in advance.
  10. That's awesome Can't wait to get out this weekend. I'm itchin' to go fishin'
  11. I only did it once to jump another boat out on the water. It was maybe 5 min. Everthing still runs fine.
  12. I have an alarm for low voltage like that. Make sure your battery is good and check all your connections. My motor runs fine without a battery but will sound the alarm. Low RPM probably puts out lower voltage from your generator. Not a professional but that's where I would start.
  13. Do we get a discount if we are from LOU. Sounds like I may be ordering more soon.
  14. This would be great If we could only keep three rods in the water. It's the knots and fleas not the fish.
  15. Very nice fish. I couldn't find that creek on my map. Did you leave some fish there?
  16. They must have addressed the issue. As of now I can get up to 7 spoons for $4.95 shipping. Then it jumps to $7.50. If they fixed this in two weeks they are probably a good company to deal with.
  17. Very Nice that is kind of overlooked this time of year. Do you dare say where?
  18. Good point I've done that too. Doesn't work if you can't catch the first one though. Never used the WD just heard about it.
  19. Great job! what species? i'm assuming LL's . Had a couple of the R&R spoons but just ordered a bunch more. What a salesman.
  20. That's an awesome catch. Bet it was lots of fun from the yak. Beautiful fish
  21. DFoes the coated cable have additional blowback. I have synthetic cable on my big jon w/13 lb torpedo and has way to much blowback now. Dunno how heavy to go dont want to hurt the rigger.
  22. I've been told to use WD-40. It is supposedly fish oil based??
