  1. sea yea 2.... Ok, that's a little north of the Erie Canal. If U have ever been there, it sort of does look like the canal from the pic. And there are some nice pike, walleyes and other warm water fish there. Care to mention what water there in Ontario? If not, great fish nonetheless !
  2. A personal prayer to Taylor Mateo to BE STRONG and FIGHT and LOVE to get through this!!! For you to GET WELL
  3. Nice fish.... and I like the "bat symbol" response story too. !
  4. Hey now.... back in again... And thanx for the help. And also the insight (rolmops, too) into some of the hacking deals....
  5. Nniiiicee!! That seems to be an unusual mix of fish. The pike of 13# is really good anywhere, and that whitefish really gets my attention. I thought they were a deepwater fish. Maybe I am not aware of the bottom contours of that area. Were they indeed, all caught at different depths...with different presentations (lures, bait terminal tackle, etc.)? Anyway, WTG !
  6. Yes BlueEye... a question from a relative electronics and computer dinosaur.... whatever could a hacker from anywhere hope to find trolling around and stealing (is that the key word?) at this forum...? Does it happen sort of accidentally, say, collateral damage due too heavy handed techniques (or idiocy)? Maybe gathering data for some other kind of bigger attack somewhere in the future? Sale of info? Maybe something that is trying to be learned? I mean, what would be their motivations. Just fishing for any info that might lead to .......what?? "Tech" savvy types feel free to chime in, but only if U can translate in plain English for us poor ignorant and susceptible underlings.....
  7. Would not be surprised to see a 10-12 lb smallie come from out of somewhere in NYS in the near future......Dale Hollow, look out....!
  8. And nice smallies, too...yeah, trolling. Right through the holidays...!
  9. Any time! Your welcome..... !......Say, what....Nobody's gone fishing out from Jamaica (Greater Antilles) here? Could be a really nice.....
  10. Kissena Lake is great for carp Baisley Pond, Meadow and Willow lakes have the usual ....largemouths, sunnies and crappie....... .......... ..... Sorry, just being silly.... Btw, wish I was going to the REAL Jamaica for the deep sea stuff. Have a great time
  11. On the lam.....which "smelly old town" did U move from? Looks like, in all seriousness, you moved away in a timely fashion. There has been a lot of fun on this thread, but the depth and scope of the beating that Sandy laid out is, well, not funny. Cousins of mine used to live in Orange and Montclair and I used to have a blast visiting when they were there. Went to school in beantown and freshman roommate was from Elizabeth. Knew some people in Weehawken as well. Currently niece and family in Bethlehem PA have been without power since Sandy blew through. None of these folks could be considered living in redneck areas of the world, but U not having power and being from (I assume) an urban area (near the Lincoln tunnel), must be glad you at least have a generator (gerble-in-a-wheel?) and yard to piss in....
  12. Never seriously fished Seneca regularly until the early 80's. What a great fishery! And still a really good northern population. I have said before, and I sincerely believe, that there must be some really large pike alive in that lake. I mean perhaps 35lbs +! Now, before you go sayin' (or after), "what R U nuts?," just consider all of the factors. Pike love cool waters....plenty of that. The big ones like deep water to roam in and out of. And the food base there is, well, really really good. Add the fact that people generally target other kinds of fish there and do not pressure the pike much. And I'll bet any big ones break off before anybody sees them. These factors exist in many waters in NYS. But there are plenty of happy pike in Seneca, for sure. If dedicated "pikers" were to frequently target northerns in Seneca, instead of just incidentally picking them up fishing for bass or salmonids or perch (as I have done!), I'd be willing to bet you'd start to see some formidable fish being caught there. Just sayin'.......BTW, I also cannot believe with all of these favorable conditions, the pike just do not live long enough to get big enough to be trophy sized. Fish continue to grow as long as they live, and there are really good conditions for long life for pike there and in several other waters in NY.
  13. Definitely a nice one! Is that from the Chemung or Tioghnioga (proper spelling?)?
  14. Yeah, that's a fat one! Over 20? Wow ! From the looks of the picture, I'm guessing....the canal? Just a guess....kind of looks like that.
  15. Maybe sort of like Agnes in '72....WITH WIND....!
  16. Yeah, checked out that river online and it looks like a nice small but long and variable system. And a trib to the Larry. With all of the connecting lakes and waterways (great rapids, too), are there good (big) muskies in the system throughout? Or do the fish just get larger in the Ottawa and downstream? What is the distribution of the musky population in the system....? (Hope I'm not asking too much.....)
  17. Pete Collin.... great story ! And it is really nice fishing the fingers, particularly Canadice, Canandaigua, Keuka.......well, heck, any and all of them this time of year, especially in light to no wind conditions, which make it easy to fish. Usually with such wind conditions, this time of year, "something in the air" (weather and seasonal biologic) seems to coincide with great fishing...... Unfortunately for folks that have to be at work, usually it is not on their weekend or day off ! Good go....
  18. Ok....Btw, care to divulge where (body of water) these were shot? Noticed that the muskies had no bars or tiger markings.....pure strain....Also like that guy in a hurry, maybe for a sucker for supper, or tryin' not to be supper for a bigger musky... !
  19. Very nice....3 'eyes for 2 hours and 2 for the plate.....and nice weather.. ...excellent! Enjoy !
  20. Swwweeeeeet!! From the pics and your description, looked like THE PERFECT DAY to be out there. Little to no wind and clouded out....nice! No wonder the fish were happy to engage. Probably would have been a good day to target any kind of fish. Again, nice report..64 lakers..? Awesome !!
  21. Hah ! ......no kidding. Really!
  22. Sswweeeeet! Nice fish and cool report. Have read of 65lbrs. trapped at Waneta in the 90's.....Wonder if there are still big ones like that there. Probably, maybe 2 or 3. Anywhoo, WTG !
  23. jimski2....yes ....agreed that chartreuse is a great color in many lures and attractors that I have. It just to me sounded kind of funny the way he said chartreuse "hooks" rather than baits. Learn something new every day. I'll keep eyes open for chartreuse hooks for baiting during ice fishing season......
  24. Hey..... Nniiiiice !
  25. Cute kind of an article.... And no condescending "dis" meant. But really....chartreuse "hooks"? Fishing journalist...I think not
