I like running both. 30lb wire on a Shimano Tekota 700lc, Talora TLA70MLRG
50 lb Powerpro on loaded on a Tekota 600lc, TLA100MH2
If the fish are 70 fow or deeper I will run the 30lb wire, Shallower I like running the power pro.
Sometimes we run a 2 per side, (one wire, oner power pro) on the right day if fish are scattered.
You need both! However, if you could only have one I would go with Powerpro. You can fish slide divers with the power pro. If you really wanted to get the Powerpro deep I'm sure mag divers with a ring would get it way down there. Although, with this wicked winter, I don't think we are going to be fishing way down deep, unless things turn around.
I have a Diawa Tanacom Bull 1000. It works great. It holds around 700 ft of 45lb copper. It has a short stop on it. Similar to Cannon Downriggers. Hit the retrieve switch and it will automatically stop about 15 ft from the reel. This set up works great when I am fishing with my wife. I usually run it down the middle. When we are hooked up with a fish on a different rod, it is easy to clear the middle.

I too am interested in seeing the new rules. However, I would like to see a 9 fish box opposed to 6.
Thanks

I was fishing with my Brother-in-law and nephews this past weekend. We landed 9 browns on Sunday & 3 kings. Our best Brown was caught by my nephew. 12 1/2 lbs. The fish didn't have a lamprey mark on it.

Congats on the AP purchase.
I installed my unit in about 6 hrs. I reviewed the directions several times and drew my own diagram. The hardest part for me was accessing the steering linkage behind the motor. The anatomy of my boat does not allow easy access behind the motors. I can troll with it down to about 1.5mph and it will hold us steady in 3.5ft waves.
My favorite function is the U-turn. When trolling multiple copper lines I preset it for a 10 minute u turn.
