  1. Wow! Beautiful animal and sounds like an incredible trip. Congratulations! Where are you hunting in Canada?
  2. Sorry to see that. Have to make it up to your wife big time.
  3. I'm jealous as you are getting to fish on these beautiful weekdays. Keep posting pics as very uplifting to see what the lake is serving up!!
  4. Great looking fish! The increased numbers of Rainbows stocked in Cayuga the past few years is starting to pay off
  5. Love that you are keeping a positive attitude and moving on. At least your boat was not vandalized/damaged and you can keep getting out on the water. Glad you are making the most out of a bad situation.
  6. Is the thinking that the C clip is worn while the other items are probably fine? Helpful or harmful to add lubricant here.
  7. Opened it up and here's the result. Must be the washer and half washer are worn out?
  8. Thanks. Any idea if parts are still available for these reels?
  9. Found the schematic for this reel and looks like there is a washer inside but wondering what else it should be attached to. The button fell off in my hand after flipping the clicker off to let out line. If anyone knows what is needed to repair the I would appreciate a response.
  10. That's quite a change. Wonder what the remnants of the hurricane will do to the lake......
  11. AnglingAddict & rolmops I appreciate your thoughts. What is the typical thermocline depth in the middle of the lake? Last 2 weekends working inside of 250 it was 75 to over 90 down to find 55 degree water. I'm guessing a strong wind in from the North or NorthWest would be needed to change that pattern on the Eastern part of the lake
  12. What triggers the fish to move offshore, change in weather/wind/water temps or movement of bait, or both? When fishing offshore how far out/what water depth do you start trolling in search of activity? It's a big lake out there and it seems daunting to try and narrow down where feeding fish are.
  13. Some of the antics of pleasure boaters that I witness at the launch on Cayuga lake are disconcerting to say the least. More often than not it's all about "Don't Drink & Drive". On land or on the water. Hope all can be patient and stay safe
  14. https://www.outdoorlife.com/fishing/new-york-record-bass/ Quite a story. Cayuga continues to be a great fishery for multiple species!
  15. Beautiful fish! Are you a native of a New England state? I haven't heard the use of Togue for a lake trout since ice fishing for them as a kid with relatives in Northern Vermont.
  16. Weatherman nailed it here as steady rain at 5 but tailed off and was manageable by 6 so a nice morning to be on the water. A few lake trout were active early, then a decent Brown and then a really nice Rainbow spiced things up. A little while later thought I had a pickerel on until it got closer to the boat. Quick pic and back in the water. Very cool looking fish with vibrant markings.
  17. Some big healthy fish there. Thanks for posting the results. Canandaigua Derbies have posted some beauties the past few years
  18. Well done!! Despite the frustration you didn't get skunked and had a morning full of entertainment!!
  19. If there was a contest for best LOU Post of the year this would be the easy winner. Great story and pictures. The Dad/Son side by side double is the best. Keep a copy and try to replicate it each birthday! Congratulations Dad and pass on a Happy Birthday to your son!!
  20. Nothing better than spending time on the water with your kids. Glad you are making the most of it!!
  21. RV so perhaps 2011 but I would wonder if from the previous cycle so maybe 2006. Great to see healthy aged fish in the lake!! Congratulations again.
  22. Want to confirm they are the single center pin attached to the base. Looks like it on the photo but want to be sure. 3 of 4 are in working order? How long are the booms? Thanks, Greg
  23. Certainly looks like loads of decent sized marks on that screen. Stating the obvious but they look to be fish who weren't hungry. In addition to swapping lures did you change speeds and direction or did the waves make that a challenge. Can't stand those trips when the screen lights up with marks but the rods don't fire. Some of the best days are when few marks and you get surprised as the rods keep firing!! Think positive and get out there this weekend and things will change!
  24. That's a beauty. Did it fight well including the Laker shake??
