  1. Make sure your first post is not the last. Love the pics with a happy crew. Thats what its all about
  2. Any pics? A 12 lb Brown must be photo worthy.
  3. Agreed. Stealth helps on the equation too. Longer flouro leaders and if you have them, set a leadcore or copper line off a planer board or try a slide diver to get the presentation away from the boat. Compared to the lake trout they are a challenge but worth the extra effort.
  4. Beautiful group of fish. Way to scout hard and find them. Maybe something in the water this year, but it seems many Cayuga lakers in the 28 inch plus group have been very angry pulling drag and not giving up right all the way to the boat. Been fooled a few times thinking a Landlocked or Brown was on the line. Makes for a very fun time.
  5. Went out of Deans Saturday morning for the first Cayuga trip in over a month. Not too much debris until Sheldrake but from there a little South saw clusters of big wood chunks in the middle of the lake. They tended to be in relatively tight groups so could avoid for the most part. Found some big angry Lakers 25 inches plus and a couple over 30 that made it a fun and busy morning of fishing. Hit rigger spoons early and flasher/fly off the dipsey rig later. About 9:30 this beauty hit the 10 color and kept me busy for a while before getting to the boat. Clouds broke up, the sun came out, my first mate did some swimming and we finished up a great morning on the water
  6. Very nice. Glad to hear you had a good time. The fishery has been fantastic in recent years
  7. Great pics. Obviously Cayuga has been missing you. Welcome Back!!
  8. Couple weeks ago found rainbows down 35 to 50 and lake trout down 50 or more. Fished in water 80 out to 250 picking fish all along. Thermocline probably setting up more now so if nothing happening go out in the middle of the lake, over 300 fow and cover 40 to 100 feet down. 200 and 300 copper should catch something, riggers 45 to 60 down or run 80 to 100 down with green or purple spoons then attach sliding cheaters with red, orange, yellow colors. Dreamweaver super slims or equivalent size is good, Ive never used mags on Cayuga. Flasher fly in white or green on copper 300 or more or off a dypsey set to run in 60 to 100 fow will always put some lake trout in the net. Be ready to check susceptible lines often as fleas are really bad now. Keep us posted on how you make out.
  9. We all have those days. Beauty of a Brown!!
  10. Great job putting your crew on the fish and great pics. Keep up the good work. Cayuga has been a great lake to fish and we certainly don't want to take that for granted
  11. Great stuff and super pics. You must have been making the customers work hard since shirts started coming off!!
  12. Beautiful group. Your patience and persistence has been rewarded!!
  13. Nice group of fish! Did your mates join you at 6 am or later on? I can only get my dog to join me for an early am trip......
  14. A gray and sometimes grumpy morning but still great fishing on Cayuga. Started heading South to let the Northeast wind help not hinder. Steady lake trout bite all over the column in 80-200 fow. Early on a really nice rainbow hammered the 7 color and kept driving deep all the way until 20 feet behind the boat when it changed gears and rocketed several feet out of the water, gave a nice profile view and tossed the spoon aside. Sometimes the best moments don't always end with a fish in the boat! Skies darkened and wind increased near Sheldrake so trolled across and started North on the East side with hopes of avoiding the harshest wind. That failed as rain cells came through with a Northwesterly blow. The bite slowed for a bit and lost several bows mid-battle as aerials with the waves made it easier for them to create slack. Fleas also a problem as multiple jam ups that needed to be cleared in the middle of fighting with fish. As the wind and rain started to settle began trolling back across and a nice Rainbow targeted the slide diver. Made for a nice finish to an occasionally wild but overall relaxing trip.

  22. Great morning and great pics!! Thanks for sharing
  23. So sorry for the banana slip up. Went out yesterday afternoon with my wife and she was ready to pack bananas from the camper. I put my foot down so she ate one at the site and we packed blueberries and raspberries, our standard boat fare. When we catch fish, the dog and I celebrate with berries. Just posted about our trip. All 3 of us enjoyed some berries.
  24. Enjoyed the morning through mid-afternoon biking and hiking in the park. We launched at 5 and using undertaker's advice, (thanks again), set up at 120 and started trolling due North. Very quiet screen past 200, so made a scientific decision and turned West, (saw one boat out fishing West of us, none to the East). Soon after the 7 color fires. Barely get the Steelhead in the boat and a rigger fires. The King grabbed a sliding cheater. Reset and 10 minutes later that rigger fires again. This time the spoon at the ball down 100 was the target. Hung that one on the scale and at 21 plus pounds it's by far the largest fish to see the bottom of our boat. Just a blast fighting these strong fish from my own rig for the first time. Made it to shore in time to let the dog have a swim at sunset, then scooted over to Turtle Cove to celebrate with dinner by the water. A great first Summer time trip to Ontario, and certainly not the last.
