Nice! I thought you had gone exclusively kayak. Gave your legs a break from pedaling today. Thanks for reporting!

Sounds like a great quick trip!! I'm just starting to tinker with slide divers. When you say 100 foot lead is that from spoon to diver? I ran a slide last week on Cayuga set 60 feet from lure to diver in 50 fow. but then started wondering about how much play was there with such a long leader. It attracted at least one laker which was not exactly what I was hoping for but a fish is a fish.... Are you using flouro leader or mono and what lb test? Thanks! -

That is the ultimate mixed bag!! What is considered an Owasco Slam?! We had a nice Sunday morning on Cayuga and like you the fish were in skinny among some huge bait pods. Water temps on top stayed about 57 degrees. Our mixed bag only consisted of Lakers, 1 Brown, and 1 Landlock even though at times we were weaving around the perch flotilla. Oh, we also managed to bring in 3 alewives latched onto spoons. Beautiful days to kick off the Summer fishing season

Get on the website, www.greatlakesplaners.com. They have all the parts on there. I just had to order a knob last month when my first mate let the knob unscrew all the way and it went for a swim!!

Launched at Dean's before sunrise and first thing focused on fishing in close, primarily 25 feet or less. Set a rigger and it fired before I had the second rod set. First fish was a 29" Laker full of steam. The rest of the trip was hit or miss action as multiple times 2 rods would fire, then would be quiet. Sun came out strong midmorning and thought the bite would quit but found a pocket of active fish and kept circling the area and the fish kept biting. Ended up landing a batch of healthy Lakers from 24-31", and 2 decent Rainbows. Spoons on riggers and short cores were the best producers today. Felt like a midsummer morning out there today. Looking forward to more great days ahead.
