Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Karl/HOOKN AINT EA$Y ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):July 14,15 Time on Water: 14-7hrs, 15-7.5hrs Weather/Temp: 14 Sunny 84 deg/15 Overcast, Muggy Wind Speed/Direction: Southwest Waves: 14 Less than 2/15 less than 1 Surface Temp: Bathwater Location: Point Breeze LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): 26/11 =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 14-8 hits/15-3 hits Total Boated: 14th-4/15th-3 Species Breakdown: 4 kings/2 cohos/1 steely that we released Hot Lure: Revalators and NO C UM Flies Trolling Speed: 1.5-2.3 Down Speed: 2.5-2.8 Boat Depth: 170-300 ft Lure Depth: 60-75 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================July 14 Saturday morning launched the old girl at 7 we were running a little late from having a few to many :beer:s but hey that happens. Had Bubba and his Dad and stepbrother for there first trip out on the Big O to do some derby fishing. Stayed inside for two hours and didn't move a rod so we headed out for greener pastures and finally the wire took off at 10:25 which was are first hit of the day and Brian got his first ever Salmon a real nice mature he was ecstatic. Then ten minutes later the 230 wire went screaming again and this guy took out 600 man that was frigging awesome. So it was Pat, who for some reason i kept calling Bob, his turn to fight Mr King and boy it gave him all he wanted and while clearing rods the other wire goes off and YA BABY we had are first double of the year. So Jeff grabbed that one and him and his Dad got to fight fish side by side.(Good Times Bubba) . Got both fish in and high fives and we started picking away at them except i couldn't fight a fish to save my life. Oh my god i had the dropsies on 2 in a row so i got mad at my self and let the rest of the guys fight fish but turns out they had caught the dropsies also and we started out 3/3 and ended 4/8. July 15 Sunday morning we were up earlier and dunked her at 6. Ran out to where we did it the day before. Had Bubba, Mookers and Greg on board today and boy we knocked it outta the park outta the shoots. 6:45 we netted the biggest fish Greg has ever caught a 13 lbs Coho, it was a really nice fish. Then a few minutes later did another Coho on the rigger. It was all wire on Saturday and today was all riggers. And then man we hit a lull for four hours we didn't move a rod. So the rally caps came out and the rally sunglasses and finally the outside rigger got crushed and we were off to the races, Bubba told me to fight the fish so after the best fight i have ever experienced we landed a awesome King. Got it on a Blue Spin Doctor and a Weenie Fly. Fishing was tough for us today just couldn't get the right program going but i will say i have never laughed so hard on the boat. What a great time with a group of guys that just rip on each other non stop. We will be back next weekend. CANT WAIT. On a side note i took my wife and son who is six months on a fishing trip for the fourth of July and while we were out crappy fishing my wife put her pole in front of Tommy and man he grabbed it and started cranking. Pics below. It was really awesome to see. Before long he will be wrenching in Kings with us and im so thankful for my family and to have a fisheries like Lake Ontario just about in my back yard.

Oh ya bud i agree man with the size thing. And yup i wished are rods would go off more to, but i am addicted and i got enough electronics and gear on my boat that i should be able to catch ET . But we are still trying to put it all together. Are first year we had so many mechanical breakdowns and i seriously sprained my ankle on the boat trying to get to a rod i look back on it and cant believe how far we have come. Just cant wait till i am one of the guys on here posting 20 some hits and landing a boat load, it will come. My wife is cool and understanding which helps me also. When you guys add the downspeed to your arsenal it will help out tremendously but hell your doing just fine without it bud, keep grinding. -

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Karl AKA Kooter / HOOKN AINT EA$Y ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): May 26 / May 27 Time on Water:26-8hrs / 27-5hrs Weather/Temp:Beautiful / 80's Wind Speed/Direction:26 Dont remember / 27 NE Waves: 26 less than one / 27 2ft-3ft Surface Temp:52 Location:Point Breeze LAT/LONG (GPS Cords):25-10/26-10 =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 26-4 / 27-9 Total Boated: 26-3 / 27-5 Species Breakdown:1 King/2 Steelies/ 5 Coho Hot Lure: 42nd Spin Doctor/Gator Spin Doctor with Atomik NBK Trolling Speed: 2.3-2.8 Down Speed: 2.5-3.0/3.0 was are best Boat Depth: 250ft-350ft Lure Depth: 11-225 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================May 26th Well we got her started at 6am at the Oak with myself, my good bud Beers aka Bubba, my Father In Law and my wife's two Uncles. The reports were not sounding very good at all last week so i was nervous bout getting everyone on a fish. Uncle Gary came from Georgia so i really wanted to get these guys on something. But with this crew i knew we were going to have a darn good time, the first was cracked at 7:45 . Struggled bad outta the shoots but managed to get a steel head and coho bite going 36 down and not till Bubba bumped her up to 3.0 at the ball. The old neutral drop trick was working for us to. Marked a ton of fish in that 250 range. We were able to get each of my family members a fish and i had a awesome time with a group of awesome guys. Headed back to the barn at 2:30 and man it was so cool to have everyone sitting round the picnic table cutting up fish drinking beer and hanging out with my baby boy. Awesome day. May 27th Me Beers and Matty headed out at 5 and were going out a the shoots at 6 and man i got some awesome pictures of the Big O at sunrise and she was a little snotty out there. We set up where we left off the day before and that 42nd was on fire off the bat. I had a 42nd spoon stacked on top of that to. Put a few in the box and the bite died. So i was tinkering around and put a NBK Atomik fly behind my Gator spin doctor and threw it done 60 and boy we couldn't keep it in the water so i set up another Gator / NBK and we did a few more fish and even successfully released a nice steel head. We dumped two behind the boat one was a monster King. It was the best day i have ever had fishing on Lake Ontario in the three years i have been out there. For once we were actually the guys that were doing awesome for a while it was one right after another and i had been waiting so long for that day. She was getting snotty again so we headed for the dock and then Bubba treated us out to the Black North for lunch and a few beers. Glad to have Bubba back from working in Carolina. Unfortunatly we wont be back out to the Big O till July 15, are summer is filling up fast What a awesome weekend and we all need to remember those who lost there lives and fight for us so we can go fishing and be with are family's. God bless all members of the armed forces and there family's. Thank you

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Karl/Hookn Aint Ea$y ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):5/5 Oak, 5/6 Wilson Time on Water:5/5 5 hours AM, 5/6 7 hours Weather/Temp:5/5 Sunny/Breezy,5/6 Sunny/Pleasant Wind Speed/Direction:5/5 Breezy NE, 5/6 Barely any Waves: 5/5 Big 2's, 5/6 less than 1 ft Surface Temp: 5/5 ?, 5/6 47 Deg Location:5/5 Oak 5/6 Wilson LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): Lake Ontario =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 5/5- 1, 5/6- 7 Total Boated:5/5- 0, 5/6- 3 Species Breakdown:King/Laker/Coho Hot Lure: Court Jester, NBK Spin Doctor/Green Atomik Fly Trolling Speed: 2.0-2.8 Down Speed:2.5 Boat Depth: 100-160 Lure Depth: 20-50 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================Saturday was our shakedown and we stunk out of the shoots. But on the bright side the new stainless prop is awesome and the trolling plate works great. We fished the Oak for a while and could not mark a fish. The good old east wind had things messed up. Through the grapevine we heard it was really going on in Wilson so we threw her on the trailer and headed down 18 and by the time we got down there the lake was pretty bumpy so we called it a day and drank allot of sitting in the boat in my driveway . Headed to Wilson Sunday morning and it was beautiful and for awhile we couldn't get that pesky skunk out a the boat and finally my 250 copper took off and I was fighting a monster laker. I'm pretty sure that was leader board bound and after 5 min i felt a massive head shake and it was gone ... yup i blew it. What a start, half hour later Matt hammers a nice king and it was a great fight and ten minutes later a 18 hit the deck. Then the elder of the boat, Jim, got to fight a 15 laker into the boat. Then we dropped a few and we wrapped it up with Mookers getting his coho for dinner. Rough start but we saved it at the end. Cant wait for Saturday to get back at it. Good luck to everyone in the derby.

Thanks fellas, ya its pretty cool having a little guy he is trip and is starting to smile. Really puts things in perspective as far as whats important in life. He likes to stare at my walleye and bass on the wall so i think we are off to a good start. And i am glad to see i wasn't the only one who was having a tough time last fall. Poverty Stricken 2 nice steelie holy smokes 17 lbs is huge. And buck board i agree man i also get stuck on my greens and purples and i really don't have much reds either so definitely going to keep that in mind for next fall. I see there are already guys out fishing by the sounds of some of the posts that's pretty cool Im going to wait for April 1 or so. Been coyote hunting for something to do and getting my dogs ready for shed hunting so take care everyone and yup three more rods good thing were getting planer boards -

Hey guys sorry for the super late response. I was busy deer hunting and that was followed by me becoming a proud Poppa of a healthy baby boy. And then of course the holiday season and my work has now slowed down for the winter. So yup already thinking fishing on the Big O, seeing how snowmobiling season has been a HUGE disappointment . But anyway making my wishlist with all the gear catalogs coming in the mail. And just sent my cannon thermal probe out to get a new feet sensor put in it. Smaltcody man nice job on the kings bud sounds like you really had it going on out there. I tried pretty much everything you suggested and just couldn't get one to fire i still got allot to learn. Thank you for sharing those tips i appreciate it. This is going to be are first year fishing with real planer boards. We are very excited, every time i had the money to purchase everything something else would break. Hope everyone is having a nice winter and all is well. SPRING is a coming and we will be fishing for those browns before we know it. Some cold weather and a big snow storm would be nice. -

But we have been getting all my friends and family out every weekend since the derbies have ended. We really have been after those big fall kings in tight but man we never even moved a rod in there. I don't understand two years ago we did great in there and last year and this year we never even boated a fall run king. So I have been taking my friends and family offshore for those steelhead. We did very well on steelhead just about everyone i took out was at least able to get a trout. We started the season out so good fishing for Kings and man the last month i have really stunk. Just glad the trout have been cooperative. I am posting pics from the last few weeks of friends and family. Well the boat ran great, put two fish on the board they did not stick but non the less that was are goal for this year. Learned allot this year and i got over twenty different people out on the big O. It feels like just yesterday when i said this last year. Take care all members of LOU thanks for your tips and info. Good luck deer hunting and have a wonderful holiday season and safe snowmobile season. See you all in April.

Honestly man i dont know how far out you want to go but i havnt moved a rod yet fishing for fall kings out of the oak. Im probably doing something wrong but i know what you mean bout gettin someone on a fish. So today i headed north and setup in 580 ft of water and i trolled west for steelhead and we went 4 for 7 and one beuty that is goin to taxadermist. My best lures were michigan stinger green dolphin down round forty. and they wanted it a little fast to 3.1 at the ball. Good luck bud
