Check out Jase rods out of Mass. He was originally from NH, has moved his biz. Great rods for both fresh & salt water. He is building me a custom spiral float rod...& more to come. Just Google Jase rods....great stuff!

Couldn't agree more Frenchy! A meticulosity maintained vessel that is a proven fish catching machine! Can't wait to see what the future might hold Brian & Marlene!

Stinger Green jeans in standard & UV were hot for us! Both stingray & mag ( although I think stingray took more hits) . we had it out on 400 & 500 CP one day & couldn't keep it in the H20.
FLT in SSW & UV cup gator were up there too!

An absolutely crazy week in wrapping up Charters & getting back home! I would have commented by now, just to wiped out... Lol
If there was a version of a show room condition boat...this is it! A pristine vessel that has been taken care of top notch both from a mechanical stand point & fishing equipment! I fished this boat with the captain for the last five years, both in Charters & Pro/And.....I can say this.....She's a fish catching machine, will go to top end like no bodies business with her Mag 350 purring like a kitten! Whom ever gets this boat is getting a Gem!

Fish are in...some wicked currents lately. Pay attention to waypoints & trolling direction & you should produce. Most fish coming 150 - 300 fow. We did well in 250- 260 Sunday. Back at it tomorrow

Right on Sk8man! I agree with everything said....my findings if you fish off shore ( for us out of Oz I consider this 300 plus) is that temp plays more of a factor...but you have the option of setting high spoon rigs to pickup steelhead & keep your FF's around the deeper marks ( above & below 50 degrees) to target kings.
Once mid August hits....& these big adult kings are bottom hugging in 125 fow to 60 fow....temp is OUT! Don't be afraid to hit them on the head Laker style and run your rigs with in 4 to 6 ft of bottom. Piss'm off.....& watch the drag scream!

What he said! Lol
We run 50lb mono from our divers to the flasher as the hits can be so violent. Riggers have a swivel & bead...then 30 lb leader to big swivel for FF's....leader down to 20lb floro seagar for spoons

Fished with my son along with Good friend & fellow capt Jim mckemmie aboard the LATERON . FRiday evening we fished a little over 3hrs, straight out the chute in 150-200 fow, temp down about 75-80 & good marks. went 5 for 7 with all hits coming on dipsies out 260 & 280 on a 2.5 setting. Crushed two face chip with Screamer fly & two face UV spinny with UV Hammer fly took all hits. Hit the same waters Saturday morning did pretty well until the 40 boat fleet from the Pro/Am arrived....lol. Started off with hits on the riggers down 95 & 105, Capt V chip & Super Dew both took hits, plus a Live Wire spinny out 260 took two wicked rips but couldnt keep them buttoned after long runs. went in a noon & got out of the hot sun after bite shut off. went back out Sunday with pretty much the same program, ran two riggers deep with two high, took a Brown off a rigger parked at 55 with a Glow Green Alewife stinger. Picked up a Laker off a Rigger at 105 on The same super Dew, & got Juve King on the 95 Rigger on a Hammer Chip with Hammer fly. things slowed so we slid out to 325 to try for some steelies, put a 250 copper out the back with a Mag UV CaddyShack on it & 5 min in the water it took off with a leaping Ironhead. a few more swing & misses ont he riggers & we packed it in. Ended up with 8 kings, 2 Lakers, the Brown & the Steelie for the weekend. Lets hope it gets better!
I guess my question is the real need for 600 cp...
I run 300's, 400's & 500's. ....for those couple days a year the fish are below what I can reach with a 500 I add 8 Oz dive bombs or torpedos & still get hits. Sucks reeling in 500..... Hate any more! Just my $.02....
