  1. hey fellas, anyone know where to find a #12 sharkweight West of Rochester by Fri Eve. Lost one last wknd on the backside of a 5 footer and it seems that the closest shop with them is in Oswego (one hell of a detour)? Preferrably Black. This may not be the forum for this Q, but it seemed appropriate. Thanks and tight lines, Jeff Young
  2. Thx Tom, I knew i could count on you guys to help me out. We'll be up for the Fall LOC for sure and maybe and the FHC. Hope to see you there! Best of luck 'til then! Jeff
  3. Comin up yet again and, being the gambler that I am, would like to find a tourney somewhere west of Fairhaven. Ive been searching the net to no avail. Screwie Louie's says there are plenty but it seems as though this weekend may be a blind spot. Any suggestions out there? Thx, Caliento Carlito
  4. Thanks guys, the tips should make this weekend a bit easier on all of us! Ill let ya know how it goes.
  5. Thanks very much B.F. I really do appreciate it

My beloved dog succumbed to the big C tues and im gonna bury her near her favorite lake. im going to be near Henderson and figured id splash the boat there for a day. Heading West after day one. Problem is that I have no idea where to find LT or Browns up there. Certainly not expecting much else to be that far East. Willow thanks anyone for whatever pointers you can give!
  7. No excuses, in the water pics are best anyway...
  8. Hey rod, I fished #300 pp last season on my big jons w #12 sharks and had very few probs. A few fleas here and there but not a prob and I fish out of Oswego. It was only one season but considering that i didnt have to listen to the wildly annoying drone of those cables I wont go back to ss cable unless i absolutely have too. Actually the only prob was finding the stuff, had to order a spool from Victoria Isl, B.C. Good Luck
  9. ive got a 25hp evinrude, same era, will that do?
  10. I need a roadworthy roller trailer for my 18ft starcraft. The nicer the condition the better. Contact Jeff @ 609 575 0592, p.m. me or @ [email protected]
  11. Late 80's 25 horse. got it w an old zodiac that my neighbors had in their garage. Really good cond, MAY have 15hrs on it. Med shaft, tiller, pull start, never seen salt. Ive had it for about 5 yrs and just cant find a use for it. First $700 takes it. Call Jeff @ 609 575 0592, send a p.m. or [email protected]
  12. Thanks Chris, i must have phrased that question poorly as it took a week to get a reply!
  13. Im gonna give this one a go. Many years ago on moosehead lake I was instructed by an older gentleman on a method of actually rigging an alewife that kept a natural, and i mean NATURAL, swimming action behind a cowbell. Im willing to share for once, as i dont fish bait any longer, but its too damn long to type on this post(its really late). P.M. or email me and id be willing.
  14. has anyone played with the sharks w the new shark spoons behind them yet? limited availability, i know. Am i in uncharted waters altogether? P.M. if you wish. Capt. Jeff Caliento Carlito
  15. is this a rube goldberg thread or what?! an ordinary butane lighter will get it done for you jack. or take it to the nuke plant, lots of heat there.
  16. Ive got two large Okuma LC levelwinds and id like change over to wire. Is there any problem w spoolin up #30 wire on a levelwind. I realize ive got to change over to rods that can deal w wire through the guides. any recommendations on a quality rod that wont break the bank(i need two). Best brand wire? Thanks as always Jeff Young
  17. Collectors items..? yeah, in a hundred years! fish'em!
  18. hello again fellas, ive got to replace my antiquated cannon manuals before i lose a shark(or two at this rate). I love the idea of the big jon alum shaft( alum gunwhales are taking a beating) flexibility and the easy ball retrieval because of the tip up feature. I have made some mistakes before on big ticket items and would prefer to get an opinion or ten before i sign the check. any help is much appreciated! Jeff
  19. well done once again, thx
  20. thanks fellas, big help as usual

  22. ive been looking for any listings for a small temp probe called the gmt40. I can find little to no info about this product, i.e. usefullness, quality. Also the cabelas fishtemp is eluding me in my searches! Im looking to save some cash as ive gone broke up on Lake O several times so far this year but im tired of guessing down temp. I believe ive got speed down pretty well. Should i just save my cash for a moor or hawk or is there an alternative? Thanks fellas Jeff
  23. Dont lip weigh them, just unfair to the fish. Weigh the fish in the net, release, then subtract the weight of the net. Berkeley offers an IGFA certifiable scale at half the price of the boga. The jaws are wicked but if just weighing a net full of fish, who cares! Jeff
