  1. It"s a Braker for sure! Cool pic.
  2. Very nice report, super pics! Thanks for sharing.
  3. I have Penn Fathom masters (835), But when they bite the dust it will be Scotties for me. The penns have not missed a beat for 15 years or so but sooner or later all things mech. break!
  4. I live in N. E.Pa. and noticed a huge decline in bird populations, So I started to take a closer look. I heard that disease is affecting the birds along with overabundance of predation. Last year while trapping yotes I caught a ridiculous amount of possum, and coon( which all were dispatched) they have a huge appetite for eggs. Along with a wet spring does not help either for laying hens. This spring seems better, but only seeing inmature males, this being said I decided not to hunt at all. Hoping that the jakes live long enough to reach maturity, Which really sucks! But at my place the deer herd is doing well using some of the above princibles, shoot does instead of young bucks. Foodplots and cover, and kill every yote possible! (trapping or hunting) Do more fishing! Just my 2 cents-
  5. Check into running a thumper rod! After a little practice it will show you what your lures are doing at the ball. I used one for years, well worth the time and effort until your able to get a probe! See Fish Doctors vid. clips on how to rig a thumper rod, than watch How to read a thumper.- Goodluck
  6. Good advice from Rolmops and Muskiedreams, I had similar problem with my Yami 9.9. Motor was laying on wrong side and filled cylinders with oil, pulled plug and cranked motor. Oil shot out , prob solved, Good luck
  7. I mounted mine on the left side of my transom, only because that area was open, I think keeping your wiring seperate is just as important, also if possible wire to batt. that is used for main motor and kicker( if using 2 batt.) Interferance from other electronics is a huge problem @ termination point on batt. but having said that i would pick your option 1. I have had no problems with my install but had the same concerns as you do. mine is a x4-d the op. manual is prob. the same, it sounds like you will be fine,be sure to mount tri-ducer were nothing in front of it may cause turbulance. in all it is time well spent, it will def. increase your catch- Now go rip some lips!
  8. Nice report, it can only get BETTER!
  9. Are you running both motors from your boats main fuel tank? If so you may need to install positive shutoff in kicker fuel line. Had same prob. seems like big motor could be creating vac. Let me know if that works,
  10. The boat that is paid for and runs all day on a gallon of fuel
  11. TRACKER , Check out the post I just made may help- tinfin
  12. Started fishing just north of the big salmon this past Tuesday, we found 50 deg. on top. So we sent out the boards with sticks and started picking at the browns. 1st fish was a cookie cutter, while untagling the net another brown wacked the inside rod in 14 fow , this one felt much better. My bud. got him to the net so i took a swipe and somehow got him. wound up being 9lber, Not a giant but it made my pal smile. Went on to catch 2 more all around 4 lbs. Best bait was a smithwick in blue and silver, followed by the same bait in black and silver. last fish we hit was on a perch j-11 in 24fow again on a board, but this fish was a slimer 5 or so lbs. Had 2 riggers down at 5 and and 8 which were never touched. All fish were fooled @ 2.8 Mph using a X-4d. Wed. morn. was a little tougher, using same as above we managed 3 small browns and then they shut down, We decided to slep out a bit deeper to see if the lakers were there and were they ever there, So I sent down the 1st rigger armed with a green spin and glow behind a white dodger with orange spots to the 50 level, Rigger popped before I turned to put the next rig down (15 sec,) So i handed off to my bud. the look on his face was priceless, he thought he was snagged on the bottom, then laker went on 1 and only1 run while I laughed. The fish put a pretty good stink up, as i wondred if maybe it was king and should i have kept the rod! But it went on to be a 18lbs. laker. personal best for my old pal. Nothen but smiles from the back of the boat, All in all both days were slow but sure beats worken. -Thursday was a bit bumpy but we went out any way, 0-2, And that was that, So shake down went well and I have another fishen buddy. Just does not get any better than that,
