  1. Friends of ours in/around the Tupper Lake area, have told me that the only way they'll ever shoot another bear, ever again, is if it is standing in the back of their pick-up truck.
  2. Plenty to be proud of there.
  3. No in-lines I know of that actually extract the primer from the nipple, and it is a ginormous PITA, to be fiddling around with that primer tucked up under the scope on an in-line, under most any condition..........just one of the reasons I traded mine off.
  4. Misty, Is that marked every 100 ft?
  5. I use 3 pellets of Triple 7 with .270 gr. Powerbelts in my CVA's. Had in-lines, Knight and T/C, but they were a PITA compared to the break-opens.
  6. He's looking for a broadhead............
  7. 2 4 pt's yesterday morning myself, could have killed one on them, and my son had a doe about 6-7 ft from him on the way in to the stand in the dark. Had to shoo it away, and he had a different 4 pt come by him about sunrise. We have some dandy trail pics, and kinda wainting for them to show up. The farm will have the all corn shelled by tommorrow afternoon, and might have to cheat out of the shop to be over there on Wednesday. Counted a flock of 41 turkeys during yesterday evenings sit.
  8. A 23" 10, and a 13 with stickers, have been killed out here in the past week, and they were pushing does. Both my son and myself have passed on little buggers in the past 3 weekends, hoping their bigger brothers(which we've seen)would be a bit closer. One is steadily on trees 3" or so, in diameter. Wish they'd hurry up and shell all the standing corn though.....
  9. I'd lean towards the Starcraft......but that's just me.
  10. My old Oneida Eagle Aero-Force 80 has me covered and I'm 6'5", and just because it is not the latest/greatest/fastest/quietest carbonmatrixsuperduper........doesn't mean it doesn't kill.
  11. E-mail from them this morning showed beaucoup' spoons @ $2.99 and Spin Doctors @ $7.99. Thought you gents might want to take a look........
  12. Plenty of scraping and rubs out here in 7J. Tremendous beech nuts and apples, and the corn in the bottom we hunt will be shelled this year....yahoo!!!!! Saw 3 bucks while in the stand Sunday afternoon, with one pushing a doe pretty hard. No shots worth taking......yet.
  13. Me thinks that name is NOT really something that is that child-friendly? I kinda' like Polly Wog?
  14. 30 ft up, and I'd be hugging the tree unable to shoot. Nice deer.
  15. If I put any more plates in the cabin, I'm going to have to have Reiters re-power me......
  16. I believe that Dave hit the nail on the head.
  17. Had a semi-similar picture of one that we never saw live, from a year before(it had grown, too) we killed it. Now I see it every night when I sit in the chair.
  18. "They" know what we need............why wouldn't they?
  19. We run 1/2 crushed red and 1/2 black electrical tape, with 3 pcs of green prisim on the back. That's called a Bill Clinton......don't know why, but that is what it is refered to. Seems to work.
  20. "18 years or younger"..........kinda leaves me out. But here in NYS, absolutely anything that Albany does, does not surprise me anymore....
  21. Actually a "spur" is manufactured here in town, that deletes the pistol grip, and if the muzzle brake/supressor is removed, or disabled, and the barrel is still 16"(carbine model Bushmasters, are only 17.5" btw) ,and a fixed stock .no registration and the weapon is in total compliance with the new gun act those jackwagons over in Albany had dreamed up.
  22. We tape those for the browns.
  23. Dandy!
  24. These rights were promised to me.......... oh, but wait..........now, we are going to change those, to protect you underlings from each other, so sayeth the decree from Albany. I have a real problem getting my mind right with that whole thing........... I don't need much, but when they are telling me what I do, and don't need, I guess they must know what's best for me......? WRONG ANSWER!
