  1. My rod and my reel, they comfort me.
  2. Atomick makes the Sheep, semi-similar to a T186 Green UV.
  3. There were fish in the 160-170 fow, and temp was about 100 down, but by the time we got set up, on Saturday, the Mrs. was NOT wanting to be behind the wheel AT ALL. It was plenty sloppy out there, with big rollers, and a washing machine chop on top of that. We were not out for long, and came back in, and got the camper ready to pull back home this weekend. All in all it was a lack-luster salmon season for us, and not afraid to admit it. Gotta' get ready for hunting also. We are going to put the big boat away now, and next fishing I'll do will be on the hard water. Scott
  4. ...............and you might just be too close if you can see the marks on their fishfinder........... We try to stay clear of others and give charters plenty of room as well, but sometimes tangles do happen.
  5. Silver fish in that 150-180 fow straight out of the Big Salmon, and a ton of fish(and fisherman) in the Big Salmon as well.
  6. We dropped several fish last weekend as well. Hope to see them hooked up tommorrow morning.
  7. That 12V plug up front is a good idea.
  8. A silver/red nose, and green ladderback/yellow belly seem to work well on the riggers, or flatlined, 100, 150 back. We've ran them flatlined off the big boards when they are in close, 40-50 fow or so..............but not in traffic. We'll have at least 1 out this weekend.
  9. I hate/love my 600 set-up.
  10. 11" plate almost swatting them on the beak.......
  11. UV. Couldn't stay on the water as much as I wanted this weekend, but a couple guys called me today saying that Eyeball was really firing for them.
  12. If you think that the Mtn Dew SD is a producer,(and it is, and we use those with a Big Weenie Butterface Glowtail) you ought to try a Reverse Eyeball Man UV plate, with an Atomick UV green glow. We've run those in conjuction, so they have a choice, and 7 out of 10 times it is the UV plate that gets hit. Just what we've seen over here on the east end.........
  13. We've fished in the Upper Saranac, and I know what your saying about the lakers being non-coperative. Tossed everything at them, but could get 'em to move, being pasted to the bottom. What we have caught up there, were some BIG smb. Matter if fact caught one once that was 26"!! I do not know what the state record was/is but that fish taped just at 26". Knowing that it was old, we tried to revieve it after being in the live well just long enough to show it off, but after a big effort, it did die. Sounds like you guys had a large time up there! The Tupper Lake area is nice!
  14. Mine blanks out about 135-140 down with the c/cable. Were not usually fishing that far down anyway.
  15. We've seen when getting inside/outside the pack, the bite will pick up.
  16. I have a good idea that it is not any of the charters that dock up at the Lighthouse, or Clarks. Those guys seem to be plenty good fellows. Certainly behavior that his clients when witnessed would likely take a dim view of as well I do agree that care needs to be taken when coming across the back of any fishing vessel out there, as they may have some long stuff out back. I know, I been cut off before.
  17. A good bet would be to go straight out first thing, and get in that 100-120 fow over in front of the Big Salmon, and see what kind of screen you have.
  18. Had a glow frog salmon slasher pulling a Twinkie, down the chute on the copper on Saturday. Took a Coho off that. We'll run that on the dipseys too. I imagine it would work fine off the riggers also.
  19. This up-coming weekend should be smokin'. Did hear that a pile-o-fish have entered the Big Salmon.
  20. Few things compare to the fishing in the big lake.
  21. Streakers, or lookers, can respond to pulling the ball up when you see that going on, or at least from what we've seen.
  22. We were all over the place, from 140 fow out to 312. Temp came up father you went out, but the lake should be stting up real nice now. 2 lakers, 1 coho, and a steelhead, was our box for Saturday. Looking for different results this coming weekend.
