  1. Ain't that the truth!
  2. Hope this front coming in changes things...........
  3. Just the infomation I was looking for. Thanks guys. Richard, what is the name of your boat?
  4. Thinking mighty serious about wanting to fish this area during Memorial Weekend. Any tips on where to launch, lodging, good chow, etc? Thanks in advance, gents.
  5. Nice fillets right there!
  6. I grabbed a couple of those a few years ago at Reiters Marina in Sandy Pond, for my 1990. I think I saw those in a West Marine catalog as well.
  7. We had a tick better luck on the north shore but not much better. We boated 4 keepers, and a short, on Sunday, as Saturday was another work day this time of year for me. We trolled crawlers/bouncers, at first, and fought off the silvers, but found that #5's and #7 Rapalas(Hot Steel) off the riggers were more what they were looking for, as we kept seeing semi-suspended fish, and trust me, we earned the fish we did catch. Radio chatter had some of the folks with very good luck running leadcore, with sticks and spoons. Fish that cooperated for us were deep, and up off the bottom about 4-6 feet, with tons of bait, and tons of marks. Weather is going to turn(less boat traffic too) this weekend, and should help spark a better bite. One thing that struck us when we pulling into the marina launch was the lack of fisherman. When we got back on the trailer, about 1 pm, there were many more truck/trailer rigs, but no where near the amount as there has always been in years past.
  8. Sounds like a mighty productive outing for sure.
  9. Mark Rommanack has published dive charts for a ton of different sticks, along with snap weight depths, dipsey charts, and various other aids for controlled depth fishing. This is not an opinion, this is a fact...........
  10. You used to have "Shelby Lynn" on the hull in yellow lettering?? Boat was blue??
  11. I would have to say with a float, and minnows, or crawlers. Years ago we took the kids up there(when they were little) for the July 4th extended weekend. We HAMMERED the perch/bluegill/crappie, once we found 'em, but when it was time to clean them, guess who was doing that for almost 4 hours one afternoon....................you guessed it. My children we so happy that day hitting the mother load. I could not even fish, as I was baiting hooks,(ran out of worms!!) and fillin' the cooler. Was just looking at those pictures the other day.
  12. I've met folks that know it all, and I usually try to put a couple zip codes between me and them.............
  13. That lake is home turf, and have fished it since the '70's. The launch at Marion Manor, has had me almost in tears before,(and upset) watching some of the "fisherman" get in the water. Plugs not in, boat still attached to the back of the trailer, scratching their a## wondering why it is not floating off, forgetting to un-hook the winch strap causing the boat to ground itself, etc. "Hey dummy, remind me to call ya' dummy", as Fred Sanford would say............lol.
  14. Sounds like that change-up to the cowbells worked out good. Nice-goin'! Dave ,we are going to fish Oneida this weekend, to see if the Walleyes will cooperate. Scott
  15. No, that wasn't us, but got towed once years ago, when I ran out of gas like a dummy............
  16. Broken steering cable had us land-locked this weekend, but heard the browns in Oswego were a slow/tough bite, and the charters were putting their clients on the lakers, FWIW.
  17. I'm having a hard time from making a move on this.............
  18. Yep. Can't beat the Special Mate boxes. For flies, I now use semi-clear plastic tubes that actually screw togather, that AV&V, intake, and exhaust valves are packaged in. Really slick. Scott
  19. I have a Johnson about the same vintage. They are smoooooooooooth running.
  20. Billy, Do you know "Never Home"?
  21. I'm sitting here drooling...........
  22. When we drift on Oneida, for Walleyes, we run a bag off the nose, and turn the outboard into the waves. It'll set the boat almost perfect sideways into the chop, and then with the rods in the holders, on the "wave" side of the boat, it'll "jig" whatever you want to run. About as lazy as it comes..........lol.......but it works.
  23. Got a set of collapsable Cannon wood boards, still NIB if your so inclined.
