  1. Hi Dave, The ones we caught over in that area Sunday were nice 'uns too..........just not as many. Nice! Scott
  2. We stayed between 1.8-2.2. Our 4.3 Islander will run happily right there w/o bags. When we were out in the plus 25 ft water we had a lot of marks, about 17-18 down and dropped the spoons right in their faces, and watched/waited for a rod to pop, but nothin'.
  3. Like I had mentioned, it was bumpy at first, then laid down.
  4. First time out this year. Came out of the chute, with a bumpy/rolling ride west, all the way to the plant,(it had laid down by then) from 6 ft, to 28 ft, with all our gear/electronics/etc. running well. Never moved a single rod. We were semi-stunned as no-takers are not what we expected, but still enjoying the day, and the chance to spend time with my 19 year old son, as we have fished togather now since he was about 5-6 years old. On the way back near Catfish, we found some chocolate water, and there they were. Chartruse J-9's,(1 double from those) and Firetiger J-9's were their favorites, but did manage one from a black/orange Smithwick, flatlined in the prop-wash and the Suttons just went along for the ride, which was very odd. 7 fish(all browns) were boated, and we released 2 small fish. Looking forward to next weekend already, and we just came in the door just a while ago...lol. BTW, the date on the title should have read 4/21...opps.
  5. Those will motor along well with a 90, with that 150, I bet it hauls a$$.
  6. Quite a few of those on Oneida.
  7. On of those 12V Interstate 4DM's would hang tough.
  8. Some mighty good eating there!!
  9. If FF glare is an issue, Cabelas offers Raptor-Cap shields.
  10. The bird trees look plenty rugged, at a darn reasonable price.
  11. The Church boards we use for Walleyes(and folks use those for salmonoids as well) are used on the fishing line, and when you are hooked up, the flag can be set to go up or down indicating a strike. you bring them in, un-clip them from the line, and you then bring the fish in. The large wood home-made(or commercially manufactured) boards, Super Ski's, Otter Boats, etc, run off a heavy dacron line, or other suitable line, that is deployed via releasing the line from a planner mast reel, or a reel mounted to a bird tree, or one directly mounted to the vessel. We set them out about 120 ft(we have our lines marked)and then run 2-3 rods per side, in a staggered set-up with the first line out, the farthest back, generally about 150 ft, then 125, 100.
  12. And if a twin, it should be smoooooooother as well. I have an older 6 hp Johnson and that little bugger is way smooth.
  13. We have fiberglass outriggers, and have used them from time to time, but boards seem to git-r-done most of the time.
  14. Lotta' dough.....lotta' boat.
  15. Nice of you to post that Dave. We are planning on going.
  16. We use larger capacity reels/light rods 10 lb line to let them run with just enough drag applied, and once they tire out with the brakes on 'em, then you can bring 'em in, or at least that is how we like to do it. Friend of ours uses 8 lb line this time of year, and was on his boat once, to witness him finesse a 15-16 lb juvinile king to the net. The way that fish acted, I would have lost that one...........
  17. Those are addicting........
  18. Okuma should police their msrp's, if their accounts, big or small, are important to them, and that would help curb this. Too many whores out there, and NOT only in this industry.
  19. Greed, and under-the-table/back door dealings are the root issue in regards to many things..........
  20. I've never seen a brown that big..........incredible!
  21. What an ordeal that must have been for those folks!!
  22. Nice going. With any luck we'll be there next weekend.
  23. We bring fruit(yes bananas)PBJ's, or ham samiches, Cheez-Its, and I seldom pull away from the dock w/o some Beechnut Wintergreen.
  24. I was tryin' to sleep over here...........
  25. Where in nothern Quebec? Lake Mistassini??
