  1. Hey Gents, Was curious if anyone has horsed around with these?? Thanks in advance.
  2. That is when we run 'em, and off the boards, if traffic is not too bad.
  3. "A hole in the water that you pour money into."
  4. A few years ago, my 4.3 in my Islander, would not pull any rpms. I found that I had plugged jets from ethanol fuel, once I pulled the carb. Went to a local auto parts store and asked the kid behind the counter for a re-build kit for a 2 bbl Rochester. He needed to know make/model/year. I told him it was a 1990 4.3L I/O boat engine, and that is when the tailspin started. I finally left, and carefully re-used the gaskets, with sealer, and it's been fine. Have used Startron ever since, w/o issues. Misty's does sound ignition/electrical related.
  5. Yes, were were just about straight out of the Big Salmon, just a tick east from in front of the powerplant.
  6. We were all over the area from the Slab, to weeeeeeeeeell North of North Sandy Pond, from 165 fow to 100 fow on Saturday, and the from 100 fow in front of the big Salmon, all the way to 185 fow, today. Took a 17 lb Laker on Sat, from the cold rod, and were hooked up on a meat rig we were running off the copper on Sunday, but dropped it. Most of the bait was in the 170-5 fow, and occasional streakers/lookers. Mighty dismal results for the total time spent on the water, but enjoyed beautiful weather, and time with my Mrs. Next weekend is coming.................................
  7. Boy, those sure do look like fish-catchers!
  8. Come down the lake futher to 115-113, and get in that 40-42 fow area, from what I recently heard. That is where we smacked 'em, for quite some time this year. The Big Lake, has our full attention now.
  9. We ran the KOS on the copper Sat morning. 15 mins in the water, the big Shimano was making noise.
  10. Pine Grove is usually free until fish show up in the river, then they man the toll booth. Can't get a boat in there that draws much water. Only about 3 ft. deep, if that, in some spots, 'till you hit the main river channel.
  11. Stop at A.S.S., white flashers, green flashers, chrome flashers, and same color flys. Get an assortment of NBK spoons, and Eric, or Don, will help you get going. You'll should be able to boat some fish.
  12. WTF is wrong with you?? If you have a legitimate beef, an internet message board is NOT how it is handled, but jokers like you are probably unware of what is refered to as etiquete, or manners. What you need is for someone to pull you pants down and paddle your ass, in the middle of Main St. Bob Fuller is top notch in my book, and can't wait to get his spoons in the water this weekend.
  13. Northeast Trim, in Oneida, will do a SMOKIN' job for you.
  14. THAT, would've left a mark. Got a strong suspicion that "Bob Dole wouldn't do that"...........
  15. Had heard the original had herring oil in it.........?
  16. We wrap the leader around the attractor, and put them in 1 gal. zip-lock bags, in a 5 gal. pail, down in the cabin. Same pail has one of those canvas "tool pouch" bags on it that carrys bare dodgers/flashers, in the pouches, along with other gear. Not fancy, but works for us.
  17. Do not rule out the adverse effects of todays "gas".
  18. I agree. I've had my 17' Tracker in over 140 fow out of the Big Salmon, BUT you need to pick/choose/watch/listen to the NOAA station prior. Took waves over the bow before, and don't care for that. I would 'druther fish from my 22 ft. Islander, though. Your 19" Islander is a great boat, and will handle probably more rough water, than your willing to fish in.
  19. Have heard them refered to as greasers, slimer's, but chicken's is a new one on me. Lake trout............the other white meat.
  20. That is a beauty!! Pulled a few big-uns from Oneida Lake before, but nothing that big! Nice going!!
  21. I use Frank's if I'm in a hurry but mostly use a concoction that I made up. Sorry, I can't share that one. That's not fair!!!
  22. Walleye Fest 2012! Way to go! I believe that are congregated there, looking for a little bit cooler water,(they won't find it) and I'd bet if you were to throw a probe down, the temp is not much different from top to bottom.
