  1. Folks we know went 5 for 7 today, there. One was 28 lbs, and they also had a dipsey get wailed so hard, it broke a swivel.
  2. The swearing would have words with very agressive "k" sounds in them.
  3. We are all wrapped up on Oneida now, and will be joining you folks for the "2012 Salmon-a-Rama", as we are pulling the camper up to the big lake this weekend, 'till mid September.
  4. Oneida is loaded with Walleyes, with a HUGE population of 14" shorts. Said in another post that I had fished it for the last time this year. I lied, as I could not resist going again on 7/8. I was running solo, and ran out to the north side of 113, as that was the general area we caught 'em on the 4th. Bingo, there they were, in 40-42 fow. Bouncers/harnesses did the damage again, to the point could not keep all the rods in the water, for the first 2 hours. Nice fish, hovering in the 18-20" range. Gotta' be careful with that presentation, as they'll flare their gills, and pull the hooks right thru them, or gulp it in their throat. VERY gentle handling of those fish on my part, as that fishery should not be taken for granted, and I applaud the NYSDEC, and the Cornell studies, that have had it become what it is.
  5. Your Mrs.(?) is holding an absoletly beautiful fish!!!
  6. According to the news channel, a boat hit the cement bouy structure at #113 last night around 10:00 pm. 4 were in the vessel, one was rescued, last night, and the other 3 were fatalities, recovered this morning, by Search & Rescue.
  7. Sure looks that way...............
  8. Fished Oneida this morning, for probably the last time this year,(pulling the camper to the Big "O" next weekend), and crushed 'em pulling bouncers/harnesses, straight down the bouy line, 38-39 fow. Good perch as well. Between 117-113 were where they were, and when you continued east more, you'd run right out of them. Biggest was 22", with 2, 20"ers too. Heard that the jig bite was hot in shallow, at daybreak. Tons of fish, and most tried/true methods are allowing folks to easily catch their limit. Go get 'em.
  9. Older post I know, but Sampo is the last word in swivels. Matter of fact, going to their manufacturing facility, over in Barneveld, N.Y., Thursday, or Friday this week to replentish my supply. Nice folks.
  10. That could also be the effects of ethanol. Had the jets plugged several years ago, and did the same thing. White chalky material. Cleaned it, re-assembled, and have used Startron ever since, and have not had any issues.
  11. I'd like to get my hands on a couple of those. Who/where/how much??
  12. Might have put it on the trailer, and tote it up the road to Rieters, in Sandy Pond.
  13. We run 10' Ugly Sticks as well. Those whippy "yellow" ones hang in the basement now.
  14. No expert here, but we run Twinkies, off 11" plates, or Slashers. Mostly glows. Biggest fish we caught last season was on a meat rig.
  15. We've pulled J's and Pro Troll Stingfish off the boards, 100-150 feet back, when they're in that tight, but the boat traffic will tell you if you can. No need for combat fishing.
  16. That's a nice one, that your first mate is holding. And you said you weren't going out this weekend.
  17. I think that qualifies you, for hazardous duty pay. Wow.
  18. Sounds like you had your hands full, in that stuff.
  19. Sounds like you had your hands full, in that stuff.
  20. Absolutely Smokin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. When you break the s/s tang off, make sure that is removed as well. Small needle-nose pliers work well, if the head is left on.
