  1. And a spare battery on board, isn't a bad idea either.
  2. Bought one last year. IT WORKS GREAT!!
  3. Holy Smokes! Already comitted to fish the Walleye opener on Oneida. I'm getting the Starcraft ready to go, NOW!!
  4. Yesterday was no picnic anywhere near/over there. Didn't think it was supposed to blow 'till around 11. Wrong. 3-4 fters, breaking, out of the NW. I was running solo, in the little boat, and pulled the plug, after only 2 fish. By the time I drove back thru Pulalski, the flags we standing straight out. Went back home and did yard work.
  5. We pull Church boards on Oneida, for Walleyes too. Can't see why they wouldn't well on Ontario.
  6. This is a (dt) Digi-Troll model, that can be programed to "jig"?
  7. "the rapids" is why we stayed on land this weekend. Nice going!
  8. Any info as to the happenings there, recently? Thanks.
  9. We were right next to you near Catfish, Sunday. We did pretty dang good, but there was more fish on the the side of the plant, but more boats as well. Heard of tempers being pushed to their limits there.
  10. Good friend of ours was out of Mexico Point today as well. From what we were told, they boated mid-20's, too, and had approx, 30 rods fire. Must be loaded with fish through there, as he said, almost anything you tossed over the side was working.
  11. Smokin' job, on boating that King!!
  12. Looks like T/storms on Sunday, gotta' work 'till noon on Saturday, so in order to get my weekly "fix", I'm going to give it a go on Sat. afternoon, 'cause staying home, is a sure way, NOT to catch 'em.
  13. You don't want slack in the tow line...........................ever.
  14. I'm with you guys on the Interstates. Run nothing but in all our trucks. cars, boats, wheelers, etc. Even use the AAA's, D's and 9V's. Helps being an Interstate Dealer.

Fish all thru the entire area, never made the turn 'till after Catfish, and pulled back to the launch, on our marks. Had a newbie in the boat, and he caught on to the program pretty good. Could not get all our gear out for over 1 hr. They just kept coming, 1 double, and 1 slob, and a mixed bag of weights. Only a few boats out, and that didn't hurt either. Heard folks on the radio, near the State Park, that from what it sounded, were doing well also. 6 more days and a wake-up...............and we'll give 'er another go.
  16. On the little boat we have a Big Jon mast, but on the Islander, I mounted Big Jon reels, on the rocket launcher system I made. Both work well, but do favor the set-up on the Starcraft.
  17. They will be legal in a season or so, as I believe the DEC is doing a "test run" at this point.
  18. First post here, and your not just trying to sell gear, but the whole dang business. Wow!
  19. I'm going to horse around with those this year, a little later.
  20. Just pulled our Walker hand cranks off the little boat, and replaced them with flea-bay-purchased Big Jons. Was happy to have the hand cranks when purchased, but also happy not to use them any longer.
  21. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Fish Hunter I ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 4/1/12 Time on Water:7:00-1:30 Weather/Temp: Cloudy/Rain/40 degrees Wind Speed/Direction:NW 2-4 mph(?) Waves: 1 ft or less Surface Temp: 41-43 Location:Mexico Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 9 Total Boated:8 Species Breakdown:Browns Hot Lure: Suttons/#9 Jointed Rapala's Trolling Speed: 2.4 Down Speed: same Boat Depth: 16-23 fow Lure Depth: Suttons 4 ft. down ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Came out of the launch and went east. Nothing. Made the turn and headed towards the plant, and never touched a fish until we were near Catfish. One after another in the rain, in an isolated pocket of 43 degree water. One was over 27". Another was 24". First, they were hammering the spoons, then they grabbed the sticks. Did not catch large numbers, but when we found 'em, it was fast action. Worst part of the day, (not the cold or the rain) was a charter that pulls out of the Little Salmon, cut us off. Plenty of room behind us, but he decided he had to get inside, now. Was not the least bit happy, with the moves that joker made. The warm truck, once back at the launch, sure was nice. ====================
