  1. I'd love a new bow, but saved to purchase a new Parker Inferno, for my son, and with a daughter in college(Dean's list again, said the proud father) I'll just keep on shooting my big 'ol Oneida Eagle Aero Force 80. The DEC will allow crossbows in a year or so, and hopefully will grab one of those, then.
  2. If money is no problem, I'd say Otter Boats. Fished with friends that have them, and there are nice.
  3. Boated our largest fish last September off meat. 32 lb Chinook hen. Never seems to fail.
  4. We'll be back at the launch at 0 dark-thirty, on Sunday as long as she don't blow. Leave some for us...........
  5. A brooder heat lamp, or a couple 100 watt bulbs could save a whole lot of heartache.
  6. We paint the bottom half silver/top half black, with a red eye, on our 13 lb torpedoes. When your down in the 140-150 range, they still blow back pretty dang good, but as long as your probe is telling you what is going on, no worries.
  7. We only had 1 on a F/T Smithwick. Rest went on spoons. Gonna' run some spoons off the boards this weekend.
  8. We came out of the Little Salmon and went west, yesterday Boated some nice 'uns, and seemed to be bigger ones, as we broke off a couple times. Spoons seem to be what they wanted.
  9. Sounds like a nice day to me as well.
  10. We launched out of Mexico, about 6:45, and went west to the high rocks, and back, varying depths/speeds/changing up sticks, and spoons. What we did catch, was all on blue/silver colors. Gin-clear water all the way, with the warmest temp about halfway. Only 4 hits, 2 boated, but what a beautiful day to kick off the season!
  11. Nice. We is gonna' be there on Sunday..........leave some for us!!
  12. Wish I had the dough................damn nice rig!
  13. I've noticed lighter colored fillets, from fish that have had eel scars on 'em.
  14. Interested. What are the dimensions of it? Pics? Thanks.
  15. Millers are similar, but the fish seem to favor the Suttons. We keep plenty on hand, and probably more than I should.
  16. Betcha' suspended Walleyes would go on that? Spoons, or short crawler harnesses, with snap weights, or leadcore. Think I just talked myself into messin' around with those.
  17. I used to know, an excellent pole holder...................
  18. Everyone has left fish, to find fish. Tough call sometimes. Hope to be on the water, ourselves, in the next couple weeks.
  19. We fish from our 17 ft'er all spring for browns, and the boat will handle more than the fisherman will, however, when we are in 150-160 fow, looking for Salmon, out of the Big Salmon,(read several miles)we do prefer the Islander.
  20. We have Mag 10's on the big boat, and have had Walker hand-cranks on the little one for some time. Currently installing Big Jon's on that boat, and am looking forward to using them.
