  1. The 80 degree cut won't happen unless you've got a 12" blade on your radial arm saw, but a 10" blade will slice a 70 degree cut, from what I've found. Made a couple spare sets too.
  2. About 120 plus folks, packed onto the safe ice, north side of the NYS Barge Canal entrance, on Oneida yesterday. Not many fished being iced.
  3. Starcraft Super Fisherman. Beacoup' room, will handle more water than you'll want to fish in, and on/off trailer, and tow with easy.
  4. We are damn near counting the days here........ Fish Hunter I(as long as it is semi-flat) and II will both be on the water this spring. My son and I already have wagers placed. Boat with the least fish, buys supper.
  5. That would leave a mark............
  6. Friend of ours just bought a new 20" Lund, 150 hp main, 9.9 4-stroke kicker all set up from Lund, with controls. Huge rear working area. NICE, versatile fishing platform.
  7. I run an 8 hp Merc kicker on my walleye boat, as I creep at 1-1.2 maximum, when pulling crawler harnesses, but my I/O in the Islander, idles down slow enough, to troll salmon/trout without bags, and without expense of a kicker/bracket/controls/etc. If/when it wears out, I'll re-build it as needed.
  8. One more time for the Starcrafts.
  9. If looking for about the best swivels out there, Sampo, located in Barneveld, N.Y.
  10. Northeast Trim, on Creek Rd, Oneida.
  11. We had crazy action in early March a couple years ago, but not like that!! WOW!! Vexilar was so full of marks, you could hardly see the the jigs. They were taking everything we threw down the hole. Have never seen that before, or after. Usually plenty happy with a limit, and a few perch.
  12. Forecast for the upcoming week showing daytime highs well above freezing, though. Have to see what happens, as I like a bit more ice. If 6", there has to 3" spots, or less. Plenty of coyotes around to entertain myself with.
  13. I stand corrected. There is 5-6" of ice in/around the Edgewater Park/North Bay "corner", as I was told. About 30 shantys out this morning.
  14. Talked to some folks I know earlier this morning, and they were getting minnows at Marion Manor.......................they are nuts!!! Scott
  15. Yep, and way off the NE side of Lewis Pt, on the hump too. Absolutely insane.
  16. That is some mighty good advice right there.
  17. Whacked 'em pretty dang good with MD Crush Glow spinnies, pulling Butter-Face Glow Big Weenie flys, and chrome e-chips in front of most any green fly.
  18. But on Oneida, the eyes are no where near structure, on many occasions, but certainly put more in the box with the Navionics. Scott
  19. 12 ga with #1 buck.
  20. Not for nothing, but with your 1st post on this message board, and your hawking spoons? Really?
  21. Bake them on a soaked cedar board @ 300 degrees for 45 min, covered with sweet onions, parsley, lemon. Once cooked, remove from oven, throw the fish in the garbage can, and eat the board.
  22. I've been poking around since you've alerted me to what/where. Seems I've got a handle, on the tiller now. Thanks for lending a hand, and getting me headed where I want to be.
  23. The farmer we hunt on, shot am 11 pt, gooooood mass, 18", with a .22 Hornet. Didn't kill it with the first shot at all. Finally killed it, down in a ravine. He said is was a m/f getting it out of there. On the flip side of that, when my Ruger 77/7mm Rem Mag barks,(proud to say that rifle has a 100% kill rate) the game I've aimed at is down, on the spot. I do agree that a .243 is a better choice. We always killed 'em dead with shotguns,(35 years with the scatter-guns) until they allowed rifles about 4 years ago. Maybe a good beginers set-up would be an accurate single-shot 20 ga.?
  24. Don't have to have the 10 1/2" screen. I was hoping that this was the lowdown, and many thanks for the help.
