Fish Hunter

We called for you folks on the radio last Saturday, but you must've not been out. Were going to be up the whole week of Labor Day also. Good luck to you folks!!

We use the 10' Ugly Sticks. Those Eagle Claws are too light for us.

We took the black torpedos, and painted their bellys with chrome paint, and put eyes on 'em. Also have tape on our Cannon probe. Can't say it has them hoping in the boat, but that's just what we've done.

The browns we caught over in/around Catfish, earlier in the year were scared, and many had eels on them as well. We were out in front of the Pond on Saturday, last weekend. Largest fish we boated was 28 lbs. This weekend ought to be real good.

We could not keep a MDSD/Butterface combo in the water on Saturday. Wanted to load the other Spinnies with a Butterface, but apparently only had the one. We made a bee-line to Jon's when we got on the trailer, and grabbed several. Just finished setting those up for this Saturday.

We set down in that washing-machine water about 130 fow in front of the Pond, and it didn't seem to be a secret that fish were there, as the most traffic we had seen there this year. Set out a good early morning program, and wasn't long and had an 18 lber. Got things back in order and then the same rod went off, grabbed it and reeled down, but intial thoughts were that it was a false fire, but no, as a few more cranks caught up to the fish. Knew it was good, and didn't pressure it too hard, and boated a 28 lb male. Now I wanted to get the same fly on the others, but looked, and only had that one.(not any more) So, got it back in the water, and pulled back over the same water we grabbed the others, and then same rod fired again, and another 16 lber. After that I dropped one, and broke off on another, and by then the Mrs. was wondering "How much longer are we going to stay out here??. It was about 12:30 pm anyway, but all in all it was a good morning. Looking forward to having the "full crew" on board next weekend, to build off of yesterdays good luck. FWIW, very good friends of ours, went 8 for 11 over in front of Oswego, in 325 fow.

Walleyes are what bass fisherman do not know how to catch.

You could grab a couple hand-crank riggers, to save some dough(I still have/use those on our little boat). Green plates, green flies, white plates, white flies, a few NBK spoons, and a few J plugs. That'll get fish in your boat. That's about all the gear we had when we started. Worked for us.

It'll be just myself and my gal, Maureen this weekend, as I earned free passes/parking/hospitality tent, for the kids, for the AMA Unadilla Motocross Race, on the 13th. Sometimes it isn't as smooth of a move, as I'd like it to be, when she is on the wheel,(YIKES) as setting lines is NOT an option either. Gotta' believe mucho fish are going to come sniffing for the river anytime.

Rick, We grabbed 3 kings in the 19-20 lb range, along with 1 laker we towed around for awhile, in that same water, and even north of the pond, on Sunday. Greens were the colors that we used. Scattered bait all though that area. I think they are just starting to show up now, or at least I hope so. Scott

bouncers, and firetiger, or believe this or not, pink blades. 1.0-1.2 mph. I'm up on the big lake now, but usually this time of year, stick baits pulled in the shipping channel works well.

Heard the same, and the jig fisherman are still getting them to go as well.

There was some for sale here recently, but a no-show/ignore occured. All Seasons Sports, Rt 13, Pulaski, can hook you up with what you need, pretty darn reasonable.
