Now that's hitting below the belt, if I ever saw it!!

Seems that many folks have had poor luck this season, to include us. Doubt if Fish Hunter II, will be back in the water this year. All we can do is hope next year will be better for everyone. BTW, the Walleyes are coming good, on trolled stickbaits, on Oneida. With the fall coming on soon, bow season in our lap, and getting things squared away for winter, may not even get on Oneida until the hard water season, which we love to do as well. Nothing like fresh "eyes", and all the fixin's, for a Saturday night supper!!

I'd love to go 80 miles offshore and chase down tuna, but with time/work, Lake Ontario will have to do.

Oh, yes, I know your boat. The (2) American flags is a nice touch. Where did you get your arch/launcher from? I've been pondering doing the same to mine. Misty, I had the 2" tubing delivered from Pacemaker, in Utica, made the components here, in our machine shop, and I am not the best tig welder, so I had a local guy glue it togather for me. I also used 2 large threaded knobs,(tube inside tube) so I can take it down, very easily, if need be.

It's a 1990, with the thin pin stripes. We run 2 antennas, with American Flags, and we have a complete arch/launcher system. If you noticed us at all, last weekend, we were the boat without any fish.

It was a good looking vessel.

There is also a big obstuction out past the opening of the chute, to the right, in about 5-6 fow also. I know that for a fact.

We have a 22 ft Islander rag-top. Saw you one day, when we were at Jon's Tackle. You must have just got out of the water, headed north. We go in/out of Pine Grove, as the camper is right near there.

There was a Thompson sitting in front of All Seasons Sports on Pulaski.

Misty, we saw you on the trailer up there a couple of times, recently. Heard the same about the 550 fow info. Sounds like a good weekend to fish, but hope the fishing itself is going to be the same.

Got a 2 man Frabill, 6' tall. Very spacious. Must be 5 X 6 floor. Great shape, just don't use that one anymore. Cost almost 500.00 new 6-8 years ago. 300.00 takes it.

I'd set down right out front of you in 100 fow and take a look. We saw beaucoup marks(no takers) in 125-140 fow on Saturday.

Don't be hesitant to stop at the "trailer hole" either. It averages about 15 ft dp. As far as lures, what we use is an orange, red, pink, or chartruse float on the shank of a #1 Gamagatsu hook, with the hook fully exposed. Run your weights about 2-4 ft(4 ft being the legal maximum) above your hook. Cast it out, and reel down to create a tight line and wait. It'll feel like a perch or sunfish is "pecking", or you'll just feel 1 tap. Set the hook right then. A good sensitive rod will allow you to feel the subtle bite. We use 10' steelhead "Michigan" rods, 12 lb line, with GOOD 30 class reels. Phleuger, or Diawa. Some folks use even 8 lb. line, but I'm not that good. There are other methods, I'm sure, but this works well for us.

We worked our way in/around 25 fow just in front of the state park, around the river, and then headed out, pulling J's, and changed up and dropped deeper as we went. Found a lot of fish in the 125-140 fow range in front of the pond. Many tied to the bottom, but streakers/lookers as well. 75 ft and down, mostly, but the screen did have action from the surface down. That big sustained wind we had, sure changed everthing. Plenty of bait, but the temp is long gone until it stabilizes again, and my suspicion is that once they are in the "hot"(68-70*) water, their feeding activity slows waaaaaaay down, and the lake being as warm as it is, once they catch that cool river water,(we saw 60-62* as well) they get sucked right into it. Never had a rod fire, so we came back in, and jumped back in the little boat(16' Grumman open boat, 20 hp Merc) and fished(and caught) the river. Mucho fun, on 10' rods, with 12 lb line. Did hear(from a reliable source ) that some folks boated some good fish in 115 fow in the Henderson area, and that might be worth a shot.

Those Big Weenie folks are darn nice to deal with also. Grabbed several Protologists, and Pole Dancers, along with their Mongoose flasher combos, in prep to use as soon as the coming wind is gone. Several folks I spoke with yesterday, had very good luck in front of the Big Salmon. SD/fly combinations. NBK spoons were responsible for some. Wish I didn't have to work for a living,(or I would've been there too) but haven't figured that one out yet.

Recently manufactered a rocket laucher/bird tree/net holder system, here in our machine shop, and set it up for f/r lights. They are mounted, but now I can wire 'em in. Good oppourtunity to do that if we are gonna' be landlocked.

My old Mag 10's just keep on truckin'. They are much slower than some but oh well. Sure I've had to make a repair or 2, but they work as intended.

Putting a 32 lbs'er in the boat alone is a damn good job. I see you were pulling flies. Did you try any J's, when working those fish in close like that?? Heard a fellow say on the radio, 10 dn, in 30 fow, with a wonderbread, was working for him. We'll be back up Friday.
