I saw a reputable voter poll last week that said Cuomo's satisfactory rating dropped from 74 to 59 percent (which is HUGE in such a short amount of time) and it was directly related to passage of NY SAFE Act...although they should call it what it really is.... a GUN BAN! When those numbers start dropping some more we might start seeing some reversals. I wouldn't count on it though and the pressure has to be kept up and possibly even more so. If his popularity is dropping then I'm sure it must also be affecting those legislators that voted yes for passage although I haven't seen any of those numbers. Let's keep up the pressure and the good work!

All well and good for Tennesee. That's just not going to happen in NY. Signing petitions from our legislatures is just symbolic. Nothing will get repealed or changed. Only chance is to sue to overturn this law and hope it goes our way. Other than that we're screwed! I'm going to para quote something I read today in the paper from Dean Skelos...our so called republican majority leader in the senate...."The gun law is passed it's over so we better just move on" I wonder what that SOB got in return from Cuomo? This is the worst legislature in the country!

This is basically what I said here 2 weeks ago. Cuomo and his cronies essentially banned 80-90 percent of handguns and most rifles under the guise of "assault weapons" and there are getting away with it. If you want to keep your guns or buy something worth having you will have to move out of New York state. I don't see us getting this ban repealed because those that voted for the ban come from anti gun districts downstate and don't have a chance of be defeated come election time.

In trying to figure out this hideous gun legislation passed by Governor Cuomo and his sheep in the legislature can someone here try and clear up some troubling questions I have about it. First of all the way I interpret this legislation is that the new law is not really about banning the so called "assault" rifles. It's real intention is to ban most handguns too because of the 7 round magazine limitation. Now if I'm interpreting this correctly...and I'm not sure I am...This new law is actually banning 80-85 percent of handguns too because of the limited magazine capacity. I say this because except for the smaller compact handguns, most handguns have magazine capacities of 8 or more bullets. If this is correct are the gun manufacturers going to make 7 bullet magazines to conform with the law in NY state or are they just going to say the hell with it and not sell the guns in NY? What I find more troubling here is that any challenge to this law on 2nd amendment rights won't hold any water because they didn't actually ban guns? They banned the bullet capacity of the guns which doesn't come under any 2nd amendment rights that I can see? Am I correct in assuming the real intention here? Can someone here please enlighten me?
