  1. That will work but you really want something that the line can slide through. The boards swing in and out and with the waves causing the planer board line to jump up and down will more than likely cause the line to come out of the Weldon release Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. I use Scotty power grip. They work great. I run 450 and 600' with no problems. You can buy a "stacker" and cut the line between them making 2 singles for cheaper Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. You have to make a "tether line". Basically it's a separate line with a clip that is small enough to prevent the releases to go through. I just use Scotty clips only because that's what I had laying around. I've seen guys use carabiners, dog clips, etc. this helps keep the release from going down and you use this to pull the main line in to attach a new fishing line to. Look over his shoulder in the pic and you can kind of see what it looks like 'Bout Time Mike
  4. X 2 'Bout Time Mike
  5. looking forward to it
  6. Temp was 52* down 95-100. 'Bout Time Mike
  7. It's a meat set up from ATOMMIK. 3 teasers with a Rhys Davis meat head. Most commonly pulled behind a green 11" paddle. Pic below is from one of Tony Buffa's trip. 'Bout Time Mike
  8. Stop and see me. Things are looking to be shaping up for a great season 'Bout Time Mike
  9. Started setting lines at 645 and by 945 we were 6 for 9. All Kings (12-23lbs). I worked a 3/4 mile area between 140-180 FOW and never left. White green dot spin dr / stud fly produced 5 of the fish off riggers at 135, 140, and 124. 390 dipsey ripped out to over 700 before it became unbuttoned- that was a green dot chip green crinkle fly. 600 copper took a fish pulling a "cannonball rig". Lost two more off riggers pulling matador chip and sweet pea fly. 'Bout Time Mike

  11. they are generally meant to be used for larger flashers. you can use them with 8" and still have success. One thing I do on some is I cut the lead just after the teasers and install either a barrel swivel or a snap on the end. I also install a snap on the tag end of the meat head. This gives me the option of running teasers with the meat head or just removing the teasers and run the meat head directly to the paddle. I can also change the meat head color anytime I want and use the same teasers
  12. One good thing about running them with spin Drs and Small paddles is you can run shorter leads off riggers. I've run as short as 10' with very good success. My starting point is always +\- 15' with these and adjust from there. On a "meat bite" day these are deadly off your Dipsies. 'Bout Time Mike
  13. For my particular setup I run anywhere from 24-32" for plain cut bait heads. If I am using teasers I will stretch it from 32-40". I use the same rule as my fly program. Shorter lengths for Spin DRs and longer for Paddles Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I run my Spin Drs with 18-22" leads and for Echip paddles I run longer leads of 22-25". As far as leads off the ball I always start with my standard 12-15' and let the fish tell me. If I am getting a lot of streakers but no takers I will adjust one longer and shorten one up and see what works that particular day Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Can the app be used without a data plan? I have a tablet that does built in GPS but no data plan on it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Last night provided some solid action. Did a laker, 16lb King, and a 28+ lb King. I've never seen so much bait in my life 'Bout Time Mike
  17. Afternoon trip out of FH produced. Started slow with a laker but found some huge bait pods. Started working the bait pods as I saw some fish scattered through. 300 dipsy ripped out to almost 700. 16 lb King in the net, 15 minutes later 120 rigger fires and after a great fight 28+ lb King hit the deck. 18. Bruzer axle to axle is 18 at rest and 15 @ draw Vs. Ten point 22.6 at rest vs. 19 @ draw. I do almost all tree stand hunting so I am leaning towards the bruzer for the compact design Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Looking at getting a crossbow. Question I have is how important is the actual weight of the crossbow? I have it narrowed down to two different models. Tenpoint invader G3 330 FPS 96.7 kinetic energy 165lb draw Weighs 6.6 lbs Vs. Bear Bruzer FFL 335 FPS 99.3 kinetic energy 125lb draw weight Weighs 9.0 lbs Both have dry fire safety, warranties, and are very comparable. I can get the bear for $110 cheaper than the tenpoint. I have very short walks to my hunting locations - a mile or less. So I'm wondering if the extra weight is that big of a deal 'Bout Time Mike

  21. I thought it would be cool to start a thread to share "non fish" pictures, more like sunrises, sunsets, etc that we all see and enjoy while out on the water. Here is one from Saturday morning. The rainbow only lasted 10 minutes but I was able to capture this shot 'Bout Time Mike
  22. Missed my morning bite but hit the water around 730. Decent screen from 100 out to 180 then it was a ghost land. Ended the day at 11 with 3 Kings one laker. Hot setup was Green / chartreuse pro troll trailed by an Green A-Tom-Mik Mfg. Hammer fly. That combo took 3 out of the four fish. All fish came off riggers at 80-90-102. Best waters were 130-180 for me. 'Bout Time Mike
