One trick on the special mates is to cut a piece of mattress foam material to fit the exact width and length of the inside of the box. Lay the foam on top of all the spoons and dividers. Since the hooks are down they don't get hung up in the foam and it takes up all excess space. It may not work 100% of the time but has worked more than not to stop the spilling of spoons when the box gets tipped over 'Bout Time Mike

I have 2 of the Tanacom reels. One 500 and one 750. Short answer is yes you can use them to reel in fish Long answer. These are great reels with a lot of bells and whistles that you will probably never use but can be used for salmon fishing. They have a star drag system just like a conventional reel. You will still have to " work the fish" with pumping the rod to gain line. Things to watch on these reels are: 1. They are super smooth and have a clutch system - NO CLICKER. So it is up to the user or someone watching closely if you are gaining line or the fish is taking line. The menus on the reel itself can be confusing and the ones I have are in Japanese ( I believe ) Def not English. Not sure if they all are I use mine with a standard power cord that just clips onto my house batteries. I do run into issues with the cable being limited to reach certain sides of the boat I only run mine when I have disabled or older guys on board. I do a lot of the wounded warrior events and they do work great. I have seen the larger ones used for coppers and have even seen a charter use one for a dipsy setup. One last suggestion would be run your best lure or setup on this rod. If you are looking to get someone into a fish it just limits them to this one rod Hope this helps 'Bout Time Mike

I am doing as well as I can be at this point. I have ended my therapy sessions I did 35 visits and now am on home remedy. I have good days and not so good days but that is to be expected. The nerve damage is slowly coming around and that seems to be far worse then the physical shoulder at this point. I will lose some motion (behind the back etc) but overall should be able to get most back. I was told that I should avoid gun season this year or at least shoot left handed as one of the anchors and screws is placed directly where the butt stock sits. I have started to shoot my kids bow which is 18lbs and gradually increasing my reps on that. I'm at 15 weeks so all in all I feel like I'm getting there. I must say this has been the most humbling surgery I have been through ( and I have had ALOT). It really shows how many things I took for granted and was a hard pill to swallow. When to change up your spread?
bout time replied to mnort22's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
another thing to consider is not just the lures, or your presentation but other factors including speed and direction. You will find that fish may like it slower or faster depending on their moods and you may also find that most of your hits are generated when going one direction versus another. just another part of the equation -

Mr clean's Fair Haven Report

Fishing remains Solid out of Fair Haven. Managed 28 bites in just 3 trips. Total time on water for all three trips was just 7 hours. Went 6 for 9 in a solo trip with all solid 4-6lb browns and one 4+ lb smallmouth Followed that with a 14 for 16 trip again all solid 4-6 lb browns and one small steelhead. Brought family out this afternoon and managed to go 3 for 3 with each kid getting one. Bay rats off the boards and mongoose stinger off the riggers have been my go to program. Fished waters from 7-13 feet. 2 Highlights of the trip were the kids, and ended the morning trip with a quad with just 2 of us onboard 'Bout Time Mike -

Berts, cannon, traxtech are all interchangeable. Can use any of their rod holders or accessories with any of the tracks. 'Bout Time Mike

Fair Haven 5/4 Came down to check the boat after being away for the week and couldn't resist the chance to wet some lines. Glad I did. only fished for 1.5 hours but managed 5 decent browns. No double digits in weight but all were right around the 4-6 lb range, The water was very muddy on the inside. I concentrated on the edge which in some areas pushed out to 25 FOW. Took fish off boards pulling Bay Rat frog, and Brown trout candy. MVP for the day was a Stinger mongoose spoon down 8-10 off the rigger.

I have a trophy 2352 with a 5.7 V8. At one point there was an oil leak and now the bilge is thick grease. I cannot reach the bottom of the bilge to scrub it and the boat sits on a trailer currently. I have ready many posts about bilge cleaner, dishwashing liquid, simple green, etc. Wondering what my best options are and what everyone else uses? 'Bout Time Mike
