  1. I run 4 riggers all on tracks with 3" swivel bases. I do use the backing plates under the tracks and have never had a problem. 15 lb torpedoes going on 7 years no stress cracks
  2. i use Michigan Sea Grant. the link is below http://www.coastwatch.msu.edu/twoontarios.html It is good for spring brown trout surface temp readings example: and for salmon you want to see where the temps are closer together and that is usualy where the Thermocline is setup. example:
  3. check out the below thread it should answer most of your questions... http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/index.php/topic/34325-best-setup-for-two-dipsy-rods-on-ontario/
  4. I have one that I keep all my spoons in. It works good. I have all my spoons seperated by color and size and it make it very easy to see what I am looking for and no more tangled hooks
  5. You can catch fish with just using your fish finder, but your catch ratio will at least double using a speed/temp. I started with just using my Fish Finder looking for bait and fish and did ok, but now I will run to an area drop my probe and if I do not see the water temp I am looking for I dont set up and keep going looking for the right temp. Most of the time you will get fish that did not show up on you FF by just fishing the correct Temp and going the correct downspeed. What you will notice for example is say heading North you will need to go 3.2 SOG on your GPS to put decent action in your lures and catch fish and for the same depth heading South you may only need to go 1.8 SOG for tha same action. This is all caused by the currents below. In my opinion a decent Fish Finder with a Speed/Temp probe is the most deadly cobination you can have.
  6. great job Tom !!!
  7. I would contact Kevin form Kelly's Green Sportfishing. Ive gone a couple times with him and he is very good. Everything from inshore, wreck, sea fishing. If he isnt available he should be able to hook you up with someone else. Marathon Kelly's Green Sportfishing Capt. Kevin Goodwin 305-289-1667

  10. Mine was easy.....I was in a stage of my life where I realized I wanted different things out of life than my wife at that time. Things just didnt work out between us and I decided to move on with my life and be happy. I have since found a new Wife and couldnt be any happier. So for me it is simply 'BOUT TIME I am happy and living my life for me.
  11. Like Jolly sad you want colder water where it meets the bottom. Typically target 47 and below. We usually run Spin N Glows or straight spoons. One trick is lower your rigger until it hit bottom the raise it 5 feet. I would have to agree that Gambler is probably one of the best in well Laker department. Hopefully he will shed some light as well
  12. Another trick is to spool up with 20lb and tie on about 100-150 ft of 30. That last section of 30 is what's in the water the most and will not collect fleas. [ Post made via Android ]
  13. Use electrical tape to keep the tag end on the spool and make sure to wind it on AS TIGHT AS POSSIBLE [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Still available [ Post made via Android ]

  16. THATS THE TRUTH. On my boat when we hear drag screaming we run to the rods to see what one it is, when I see its the copper I run back to my chair and sit and use the whole " I have to watch for traffic" even if we are all by ourselves.

  21. I just picked one up. I'm going to try one on one side and will run a big board on other side with identical setups. I will see how they track and run compared to one another. [ Post made via Android ]
  22. Is it a pain having to fight the board with the fish? I'm looking for an easier way to deploy my coppers to the sides without using my big boards [ Post made via Android ]
