Honestly a boat that size with that motor is underpowered. I have a 25’ trophy hardtop with a 5.7 and had similar issues. I ended up dropping the prop 1” in pitch and going to a 4 blade. It helped but still dogs at times. Another issue is the placement of the fuel tank. Instead of being true “midship” they are more towards the rear 2/3 of the vessel. It just adds extra weight to the stern along with regular motor, trolling motor, riggers etc. If I carry anymore than 60 gallons of gas at a time I have a hard time getting on plane. I was sitting in the bowl of a deep ravine this year at my newly acquired property in 7R, when out of nowhere I hear crashing, see leaves flying and sticks breaking. All I saw was a huge black fur object come flying down the ravine 30 yards from me. I almost fell out of my stand thinking it was a black bear charging. When it hit the bottom of the ravine they broke apart. It was 2 big males fighting and they got tangled up on the top and rolled all the way to the bottom. Had to clean my shorts after that one. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I love my 30/30. I have a Marlin 336 CS that was handed down from my dad to me. Always a special feeling to squeeze the trigger with it Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Congrats to everyone that has connected. I have 3 sits left for the season then I have to hang it up. (Work and family obligations). I am lucky enough to have a full freezer but yet still feel like it’s been a so/so season. A have let a lot of racks go early and haven’t seen one since the gun opener. I have hunted every morning and night that I could and the weather allowed. I have hunted close to home, 45 miles north, and 95 miles south, 3 different counties. This thread at times has kept me sane and very much entertained. I’m with the guys on the low side of seeing deer - normal sit im lucky to see 1-4, and many times 0, but it doesn’t deter my drive. Best of luck to all those still out shoot straight and have a great Holiday Season and a Merry Christmas Maybe I’ll have one more post in me if I can connect .... Very few shots (deer) in Wayne county this morning. Waterfowl guys letting loose. Didn’t see anything including on my 40 mile drive which is unusual Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Deer must be moving this morning. Heard close to two dozen shots from all different directions. More shooting so far then opening day Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Saw 2 deer around 330 in the thick stuff around 80-100 yards. Never got to see their heads. I think they winded me (swirling wind). Caught their tails as they went away. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
What a difference 40 miles makes. Back home 8” + heavy wet snow. Here...not even a drop on the ground Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Last 3 morning I have seen zero deer. This morning on my walk in it looked like a party last night with all the tracks. Definitely late night movement for my area Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Last 2 nights sat on edge of thicket and harvested bean field. NW winds 20-30+ with 10” of snow made for zero movement for me. Did see just one set of tracks in snow from night before. Very slow Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Setup on the edge of the thicket looking out. First time all season in a ground blind for me. Wind is really picking up and snowing now. 7A oswego county

Hunted Wayne county up by the lake this morning. Waterfowl hunters letting the lead fly. I’ve had a string of bad luck hunting lately (mostly self induced). In my stand at 645 this morning and shots everywhere. At 720 I hear the “train” coming through the swamp. Single file I counted 1-9 of them and not a single horn. So then I decided to take the largest one. Well it just so happened that it was the first one and by that time she was 40 yards away. I had a relatively narrow window to shoot through, but she presented a perfect broadside shot. Needles to say she didn’t go anywhere.

First Thanksgiving I didn’t hunt. I stayed home and help the Mrs get ready for a big family dinner (25 people). My buddy asked last night if could sit in my stand this morning. I said sure. He was in stand at 640 and at 720 this guy walked by...... glad to see someone I know get him but still ..... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
