  5. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Fishing aboard the Scottsman II with Capt Lester ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 8/31/10 Time on Water: 3:30pm-9pm Weather/Temp: Hot Wind Speed/Direction: Almost dead calm Waves: Glass Surface Temp: 74' Location: Sandy Creek between the Pump House and the Creek =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2 Total Boated:1 Species Breakdown: Big Fat King Hot Lure: A Scottsman II custom NK Glow, Black with a green ladder and red eye Trolling Speed: 2.2-2.8 Down Speed: 2.0-2.5 Boat Depth: 120ft Lure Depth: 55ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== The Lake was absolute glass and the sun baked us pretty well through out the day. We left my boat behind tonight and fished from the Scottsman II. It was just plain Hot hot hot with little breeze for refreshment. We first hooked up on a Spin dr/A TOM MIK combo which ripped out a couple hundred feet of line just to spit the hook 10 feet from the boat. Just while the sun was setting the starboard corner rigger fires off and right away we knew this was a monster. 45 minutes later in the dark, with my knees knocking and zero blood left in my fingers Capt Lester netted this slob and I had to set the pole down to help get him in the boat. And my hand to god he bent the 8 foot net. In case your wondering, after signing up for every derby around this season both of us have had crazy schedules and did not register for the Fall LOC.. Yeah.. I know... We were happy just the same at this magnificent beast. Sorry for the dark pictures, it was almost 10 by the time we got to the dock.
  6. It was a fantastic time and you guys did a great job putting it together. We all had fun and this one is added to the "must fish" tourneys next season! Bravo Zulu
  7. Did that north wind the last 2 days blow any of that colder water in closer?
  8. Its gorgeous! Its also nice to see someone else who appreciates the recreational tugs. A Nordic Tug is my dream some day. Very Nice, Thanks for sharing and letting us drool. Chris
  9. Jeff I've seen boats 30+ go in the Sandy Launch without an issue although I'm not sure where the concrete ends. The marina is Sandy Creek Marina 585-964-8189 and is run by Bruce. He usually has transient dock space. Look forward to seeing you at the shootout.
  10. We killed em out of Dunkirk a couple weeks ago. 16 over 20-30 inches and 1 10lb'er note the free advertising for my favorite fly
  11. They've had nobody on site for months now other than security

    LONG POND

you can drop it in anywhere along Edgemere Drive. You can park anywhere along side the road on Long Pond.
  13. Great afternoon you had. I'm kind of sorry I left the spin docs on the shelf today. See you out there in the AM Chris
  14. Get to know FISHINMAN a little better and you will figure out getting soaked was the right decision Hahahahaha
  15. Theres still a lot of shallow cold water out there. In 150fow the break was down about 55-60ish it drops to the upper 40's. I think the thermocline was actually around 70ft in 300fow. Currents were very light today for once. I do believe it was east to west though. I left my log on the boat so I'm stuck using this very poor memory
  16. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Flash Point ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 7/13/10 Time on Water: 0500-1200 Weather/Temp: Hazy Overcast 70's & humid Wind Speed/Direction: 0-5mph South Waves: 0-1 Surface Temp: 72' Location: Sandy Creek / Wautoma Shoal - Devils Nose =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 6 Total Boated:6 Species Breakdown: King, Coho , Steel, Laker Hot Lure: An odd gray over Gold NK 28 took 4 Trolling Speed: 2.1-2.8 Down Speed: 2.7-3.0 took all the fish Boat Depth: 150-330 Lure Depth: 40-65 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Cleared the piers about 0500 and decided to troll east today. Set up in 90fow and washed lures until 0830 with only a few good marks. Picked up a JV king in 250 fow on a Stinger Glow alewife on 8 colors of lead. (Lead has been quiet for a few weeks until yesterday) Then took a decent coho 9-10lbs 45 down on the rigger a few minutes later. trolled out to 330, blank screen, no hits. Went West to Devils Noseand turned back in. Once we hit 175fow we banged out 4 more in the next hour including a smaller adult king (13-14lbs) a couple 6-8lb steelies and a chubby 9lb laker 40-50 down over 175. We headed in about noon and were greated by a nice thunderstorm with ridiculous rain. I wish we had hid out under the bridge with Fishinman because we got soaked tying up at the dock.
  17. Great fish Steve. Headin out now after a short sebaticle.
  18. Great fish Tom, I think we've had some wicked currents at the creek the last week or so because were 2 for 3 on tangles the last 3 trips and massive blowback on the westerly troll and I went most of last year without any tangles.
  19. That stinks we made 2 donations to the deep yesterday. We sent a 10lb shark to the bottom after the cable snapped 10ft from the rigger. We had to go out to 200-300 fow and 110 down to find good temps yesterday.
  20. Anyone have any 10-12lb pancake weights they wish to part with? I have Walker Tournament riggers and not sure if they'd handle 13lb+ well. I will pick up anywhere within a county or so from Rochester.
  21. Geeze Brian, Thats one hell of a day... Nice to see Sandy on the board! Great Job
  22. I think we'd all be thrilled to death if they were right 50% of the time. Tim Very Much agreed!! 50% would be an improvement.
  23. I believe it is possible although not likely anything of signifigance. Kind of funny they mention The Big O specificly in this article http://www.associatedcontent.com/articl ... lakes.html

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Flash Point ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 6/23/10 Time on Water: 0450-0530 Weather/Temp: 73' Partly Cloudy Wind Speed/Direction: 12-15kts WNW Waves: 3-5ft and tight Surface Temp: 67 =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 0 Total Boated: 0 Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: 80ft Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Marine Forecast: Today Southwest winds 10 knots or less increasing to 5 to 15 knots. Partly sunny. Waves 1 foot or less. Actual: Steamed out of Sandy just as the sun was peaking out over the horizon. Noticed immdiately the trees were all keeled over and the wind was ripping. Cleared the getty and had a stiff blow from the west and 2-3 footers packed tight together. headed out towards 100fow and they were a steady 3-4ft with the occasional 5ft+ set. It takes a lot to stick my bow pulpit in the water but it was wet. I could have toughed it out because it looked like it layed down later but I wasn't in the mood. Headed out to The Oak for breakfast and a trip to the toy store (Captains Cove). THanks again weathermen for that stunning accuracy!!

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Flash Point ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 6/22/10 Time on Water: 0515-0945 Weather/Temp: 65' Mostly Cloudy Building Storms Wind Speed/Direction: 5-12 ESE Waves: Started Flat ended 2-3 Surface Temp: 66' Location: Sandy Creek =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 4 Total Boated: 2 Species Breakdown: 1 Small King 1 7lb Coho Hot Lure: NK Blue Thunder & 5in White Echip dodger/fly Trolling Speed: 2.8-3 Down Speed: New Probe is on the UPS truck Boat Depth: 190-250 Lure Depth: 60-100 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Cleared the Piers about 5am to a dark red sunrise (never a good sign) and mostly calm seas. Lost 2 nice kings by 7 one of which decided to tanglemy lead core with my rigger before spitting the hook. Thanks.. The waves picked up and we got a report the storms were arriving early so we started pulling lines about 0945 when port inner rigger fired off with a small king. After releasing it the 1 remaining rigger fired off with a spunky 7lb coho. Picked up and headed in through a down pour before the thunder & lightning started.
