  4. Hey Jimmy sorry to hear you took a cold swim in the bay I'm glad those guys were there. I have to agree with the guys about the boots. I don't even wear normal boots on the boat unless they have side zippers. On a brighter note I'm happy to hear your healing up and back out on the water. We're looking forward to seeing you back at work. Spring trout is only a few months away Chris M
  5. Anyone know why this law is in place? I'm just trying to figure it out with a reasonable explanation.
  6. Has anyone ever been fined by the DEC for "Fishing south of the first bridge on a Great lakes tributary 30mins after sunset"? After almost a decade of active duty Coast Guard and 30yrs of fishing Lake Ontario I had never heard of it however thanks to the kind DEC Officer in the Cherokee I now have a shiny white ticket to prove it. I was 10ft or less south of the sandy creek bridge at anchor about 45mins after sunset. He did show it to me in the book but good luck finding it again as even the Officer had trouble... Seems like quite a reach to me. anyone else ever got this one?
  7. Shane I went through last week and it was a steady 2 - 2.5ft but the green side is a touch more shallow so stay red. I wandered off just a little and touched bottom with the skeg. Coming in from the lake make the swing real wide turning into the marina. Its super shallow around the point. After the 2 days of of 20kt + NE winds its anybodys guess now. Chris
  8. What area are you in?
  9. I'm looking at a bow mounted electric trolling motor for my 17ft center console. I found an Evinrude 44lb thrust 12v with foot controls reasonably priced. I have never heard of an Evinrude Electric and I can find little to no useful information anywhere on the internet. Was this a short lived venture by Evinrude? Does anyone know anything about them reliabilty, parts, etc?? Anthing info would be helpful, thanks. Chris
  10. Thanks for the comeback and info Tom. Much appreciated.
  11. I just checked the marine forecast and it says the temp off Rochester is 45'F. I'm guessing the Lake turned over with all this weather. I'm new to running my own boat for summer salmon, how will this affect fishing? Bring them in closer, push em out? Any tips during dramatic lake changes? 4-6 footers predicted tomorrow looks like she'll spend another day at the dock... Thanks in advance. Chris
  12. I'll keep an eye out for ya, I'm in the White Center Console
  13. Hey Romo I'm sure you could feel your floors rumbling last night with every crash against the breakwall. I did about a half mile west of you anyway. The fountain is looking good! Chris M
  14. Any luck on the shoal Shane? I've been trying to get into some smallies buts its been too rough to shoot over to hedges this week. CM
  15. Jam I was suprised myself, late morning, sun shining 82' lightly stained water. We got him on the West side of the bay 10yds south of the parkway bridge right on the ledge there from 3ft-11 fow. He was only a 14 incher but a Walleye just the same.

  18. I use Sprint. The phone coverage is mediocre at best however the data is the main reason I'm with them. By far the fastest and cheapest data plans and my plan includes free roaming so even if I have to bounce off a verizon tower its free. Theres nothing like having up to the minute live doppler radar on the water.
